I started getting a really bad rash on my breasts about a month ago that won’t seem to go away. First I tried taking prescription allergy medication and applying hydocortisone and it didn’t help, so I went to the doctor and they gave me a cortisone shot and pills (prednisone) and the rash persists. It is very itchy and blotchy, it is a little bumpy but not as bad as it used to be. I also tired applying a cream that I got previously for contact dermatitis and it didn’t help. I tried applying cream for yeast infection and it also didn’t help. I have not worn a bra or tight clothing since the rash appeared. It’s not warm weather here and I haven’t been in the sun so its not heat rash. Does anyone know what this is and how to make it go away? I haven’t used any new soaps or detergents, I washed all my clothes and bedding, I toke all the pills like I was supposed to, I have had no contact with any sort of plants that could cause this, no new medications, no food allergies.

It would be simply guess work on my part without actually seeing the rash. But, it sure sounds, from the location, that you are dealing with a contact dermatitis. Sometimes, these can last a couple of weeks after the culprit has been removed, so perhaps u are still being exposed to the agent. Of course, there are other possibilities, so it sounds as if you should see a dermatologist (and not a regular doctor) for the definitive answer/treatment.

Are you sure you ahve given just one of the treatments long enough … you say the rash started about a month ago but you have tried an awful lot of remedies in that short space of time.
I would ask at the chemist for an anti fungal type of cream, ask for advice on the cream to get the right type … but what you have to do is stick to a very rigurous routine … wash and dry the area before applying the cream and again wash and dry before applying again later in the day. Stick with it for the amount of time stated on the package.
Sometimes it can take a week before you see any improvements, perhaps you have been a little impatient, we can all be like that but try again.
Cortisone creams do not treat bacterial or fungal skin infections … I think you have some sort of infection there.
    Good luck
