Can Vitamin C Cream Cause A Photo-induced Allergic Reaction?
Posted by: Alan in Contact Dermatitis, tags: Allergic, Cause, Cream, Photoinduced, Reaction, Vitamin
I started using Merle Norman vitamin C cream. When I went in the sun I got a severe allergic reaction. The doctor said it was contact dermatitis (allergic reaction to something I put on my face). The only thing new was the Merle Norman vitamin C cream, foundation, and bronzer. Since the vitamin C cream was the only thing I put on my eyes, I assumed that’s the culprit. It didn’t do that until I went out in the sun– honestly, I thought I had a sunburn on my eyes. Then, it spread to my neck. It’s been about 2 weeks– you can barely see it now, just a little around my eyes and neck.

If I were you I would try and somehow contact the company that makes the cream and let them know what happened to you. They may give you some answers or you may be giving them some feedback on the product ,either way it would be interesting to know whether its just a reaction that you have had or others have had too.
Ps They may compinsate you by giving you another product to try. Cheers

Sometime these products react with sunlight and result in these kind of reactions so I would suggest you not to use these products when you are stepping out in sun.
