Contact dermatitis is a generic term which refers to an inflammatory reaction of the skin when it comes in contact with some type of irritant whether chemical or allergic. I do recommend you see a dermatologist, but if the rat is new, followed by the rash, then most likely that is it.

i have that. [allergic to fake metals,i.e.buttons on pants and stuff] its pretty much eczema. you should probably get rid of your rat. we have rats and my mom is allergic to them so she has little spots from them. theres also a cream you can get from the doctors to get rid of it.
