In April i had someone accuse me of giving them Genital Herpes the day after we slept together ( used condoms!!) . Which is a rediculous accusation, but i was tested anyway, and was negative.

In June I had experienced what turned out to be Mono. I only know this because the guy i was dating at the time, got sick 2 days after i did, with the exact same symptoms, and he went right to the Doctor and was blood tested positive for Mono.
I discovered a growing bump in my vaginal area that turned out to be what the doctor said was “Folliculitis” basically a boil under the skin . She strongly believed it was NOT herpes, and that i can get tested if i want. I was tested for it again, and it was negative.

Let me just say i have Eczema and contact dermatitis since i was born, so when i usually see bumps and rashes, it’s a normal everyday thing.

This Herpes thing was almost completely put to rest until i received a ‘cold sore’ on my lip, and noticed a bump on the side of my vagina, at the same time. I’m not sure if that’s possible, or maybe i am imaging things. My mom and her side of the family all gets cold sores on the lips, because 40 years ago, no one knew they were contagious. But now i am Constantly checking down below with a mirror, and constantly looking at my lips. i mean i do have pimples on my chin, and always have.

I recently noticed a week later that my salivary gland under my chin is hard and enlarged.
i am constantly Googling and looking at pictures and my friend is a med student and she says i may be psychosematic. Could it have something to do with being accused i had it? I don’t know. Negative Tests, and Scoffing Doctors, i just feel bastardized.

Any helpful Thoughts?

Condoms don’t prevent genital herpes from spreading.
Cold sores are another form of herpes, which is very contagious. It’s commonly passed between family members in a home. That doesn’t mean you have one though. If so, just treat it with an over the counter cold sore medicine.
As for the genital area – could just be an ingrown hair. You may be able to see the hair under the top layer of skin.
If you are worried about your salivary gland – ask your doctor. It’s probably nothing serious.
Maybe try to think less about these possibilities; seems like you’re stressing yourself out with worry.

I’m not a doctor, but I think you’re worrying needlessly. First, you’ve tested negative for herpes twice. Second, from everything I’ve studied and learned about genital herpes, the first outbreak is usually extremely painful, and I don’t think there would be any doubt if you really had it. Besides, I think you can trust your doctor to be able to tell the difference between a “stopped up” hair follicle and herpes blisters. Also, just because you have fever blisters on your lips doesn’t automatically mean you have genital herpes. If I remember correctly what I learned in nursing school, they are caused by two different kinds of viruses: herpes simplex virus 1 and herpes virus 2, respectively, although they can both be treated with acyclovir.

The important thing is you are safe from the disease.

You have oral herpes HSV-1 (cold sores on the lips). You do not have HSV2 genital herpes. However, keep in mind cold sores are contagious and can be transferred to the genital area so don’t give or receive oral sex during a breakout on your mouth. Other than that, you really don’t need to be stressing out. Honestly oral and genital herpes are basically the same which is blister like bumps. The only difference is they are commonly found in different parts of the body. You are fine so stop worrying.
