She has eczema, which was obviously inherited from my husband, who inherited from his father. Her face flakes a lot, and baby wash isn’t helping. Cetaphil was ineffective. I was wondering if she was too young to use facial wash and cleanser. She doesn’t have any acne, just a few blemishes. But I don’t really care about the pimples, acne, blemishes, etc. I’m talking about any facial products to not irritate her skin condition.

    She’s not too young. Go for it.

    I have rosacea which is similar in ways.

    This has helped me and it might help her, and my remedy is all-natural ingredients.

    I first blend 100% natural oats in the blender to make them smaller, then I add milk, pure water, honey, and olive oil. I then put some of it on the effected area and leave it on for ten minutes. Then I apply warm water on it then wipe it off. Oatmeal helps itchyness and inflamness and the other stuff is very good for your skin too.

    As for moisturizers I found a very effective recipe online.
    * 2 1/2 ounces blended oils ( preferably lavender and jojoba oil)
    * 1 1/2 ounces shea butter (an emollient that locks in moisture)
    * 1/2 ounce beeswax
    * 4 ounces distilled water
    * 30 drops grapefruit seed extract
    * 1/4 tsp. borax(it helps keep the mixture together, but doesn’t have to be used.)

    Weigh the oils and beeswax. Melt over very low heat, stirring occasionally.

    Remove the melted oils and beeswax from the stove and add the water and borax. Mix with hand blender or mixer until creamy & thick. Stir in grapefruit seed extract.

    Store in jars with screw-on tops.

    A friend of mine told me that she used goat milk to wash her face with. Also if I remember correctly eczema can be significantly controlled by consuming green leafy vegetables (which are full of magnesium) and are extremely beneficial in this case. Hope this helps!

    It’s fine for her to wash her face but use a very gentle facial wash and don’t wash too often! (once a day is good). I recommend Dove bar soap especially made for babies. It gives a very gentle wash and is soothing and non irritating. My skin is sensitive and it works great with my skin and I’ve recommended it to friends with red irritated skin and it works well for them too. Also, another product which is absoultely fantastic for eczema is a skin cream called Egyptian Magic. It’s an all natural skin cream you can get which was invented and used by ancient egyptian healers for the royalty and is all natural with the best healing and moisturizing ingredients. It’s highly recommended at stores such as Whole Foods for being the best for eczema with being recommended by pediatricians, dermatologists, etc. AND it cleared up my boyfriend’s younger sister’s eczema when nothing else worked including steroid creams. http://www.egyptianmagic.com if you’re interested in it. Also, just as important, it’s important to think about food and supplements for healthy skin other than what you put ON your skin since good health comes from working from the inside. Vitamin A, C, E are important vitamins that are good to supplement if there are skin issues and taking cod liver oil and other fish oils can really help the skin’s condition after a few weeks to a month. Good luck!

    Eczema can be devistating, especially for kids! I can share what took care of it for my and my children. It is a cosmetic product called Regen. It is all natural, doesn’t sting in the eyes, and is guaranteed! Best of all, it stops the itching! Do not mess with drugs and harsh chemicals, they are just not worth it. Look at these pics:http://blog.oli-co.com/?p=547 Live well, Suz
