The Aveno Baby line is great! My daughter had bad dry skin on her face and knees and it helps a lot.

My sons eczema covers his entire body.Allergies do aggravate eczema he was recently allergy tested and was found to have many allergies. This is often the cause if eczema seems to be constantly flared up.It’s important to keep dust to a minimum vacuum matresses daily and keep her skin well moisturised. If it’s bad you should apply the moisturiser every hour-more if necessary. There are different levels of thickness to the types of moisturiser you can get so if you feel one isn’t working you should tell your doctor and he can prescribed a more suitable one.
Temperatures affect eczema it tends to be drier in the winter as it is for most peoples skin but for an eczema sufferer they can come to dread winter.Moisturising is so important and if necessary use a wrap.My son has special type of leggings he was prescribed as it helps absorb the moisturiser and keep his skin soft.Don’t be scared keep going back to your doctor and if you need to insist on a referal.A dermatologist can be a great help my son has improved since he was refered to a specialist and we have recieved support.Don’t use soap use the emolleints to wash with.Cover the area with it before she gets in the bath it reduces the stinging. The rinse it off let her soak in the water for around ten minutes as it helps soften the skin.Good luck with this I know it’s hard and a distressing condition, sometimes hard to control if you need any more help let me know.

for now you want to put just aquaphor on it- twice a day(once after a bath) You dont want to use hydrocortison yet. Hydrocortison can scar skin if used too much!
Also, dont let the baths be over 15 minutes.
I also found a baby eczema cream (it is hard to find sometimes) it has a winnie the pooh on the box. It is very greasy and it worked better than aqauphor for me.

The best thing to do is to focus on treating the underlying cause of the eczema and minimize the flare ups by:
- bathing using warm, not hot, water and a very mid soap
- using a cream or petroleum jelly based moisturizer on wet skin after bathing or washing hands.
- moisturize throughout the day as the need arises. Avoid using lotions as they tend to dry out the skin
- pat excess water from skin after moisturizing as rubbing irritates the skin
- wear cotton clothing
- avoid the use of detergents, fabric softeners and dryer sheets with perfumes and/or dyes
There’s a really great article on this website about how one woman with severe eczema was finally able to beat it: http://www.beateczema.com/?hop=4safetynow

my daughter has eczema all over her body, especially her face and arms.
I wash all her clothes in tide free and sent free bounce sheets.
keep moisture in the air in her room in winter.
keep the baths to a minimum(2-3 a week)
wash all new clothes before she wears it
her daily moisturizer is a prescription from the doctor and I can not remember the name but it starts with a “C”(cepital , I think)
