I’ve started using coconut oil for my severe eczema after seeing great reviews about it. After 2 days, it seems that my skin has become extremely dry. It’s not flaky like usual, but it seems as if it sucks up the oil very rapidly even though I put more on. Should I keep using it a couple more days or another week or is this a sign that I should stop? And does anyone know why this is happening?

I prefer olive oil. A lot of other oils are just too light, because my skin is really dry also. I use a Cocoa Butter lotion too though. I put them both on back to back while my skin is still wet from the shower.

Cortizone cream helps with the itching too, if you have that. It’s really good with moisturizing and healing dry itchy skin.

Cetaphil also makes a really good skin cream that is really good for dry sensitive skin.

Don’t forget to drink lots of water, and take a multivitamiin every day. Helps a lot. I also take an Omega 3/6 pill, and a Vitamin E pill everyday. They are really great for dry skin.

    Best of Luck.
