When I swim in a public pool my skin breaks out in eczema.?

When you swim does your skin break out. Is it from the harsh chemicals in the pool, dirtiness, bacteria??? I always get bad eczema around my waist like red welts a few days after I swim at the gym. I can’t swim that often because of it.

Mine does…I get a red rash for about a day or two… I think a lot of it has to do with the high amounts of chems. in the pool.

It would be the high amount of Chlorine that they have to put in the pools because they would rather be safe then sorry and just kill everything in it. So because you have really sensitive skin it will get irritated so your eczema will break out. Sadly i don’t believe that there is anyway to improve that.

You are allergic to the chemicals in the pool

Have you tried swimming in a lake or river? If the lake or river does not bother you, then it is probably the pool chemicals.
