My son has eczema and is allergic to some soaps. What is the best deodorant soap he can use?

Which deodorant soap is the least likely to cause allergies?
Right now we only use Dove for sensitive skin. I just wanted to know if there is an alternative for after puberty.

Have you tried Aveeno? They also have a line of baby products.

None, try aveeno.
My daughter & I both have eczema, and I never buy scented soaps.

I would go for the hypoallergenic soaps with the fewest ingedients. Deodorants may well be causing the problem.
See Let’s Get Well by Adelle Davis, and Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine (Murray & Pizzorno) for an excellent discussion of eczema and some good recommendations on how to try and deal with it.

ummm, you shouldn’t be using deodorant soaps at all for a child that has eczema. my sister has that and is 21 years old, had it since she was a child and til this day she doesn’t use deodorant soap. use sensitive skin soap or Aveeno soaps, only.

Don’t use deodorant soaps as the chemicals in them are far too strong for the skin, especially if it is already disturbed from the eczema and he is allergic to some soaps. Try Aveeno products as the other poster mentioned, or use Ivory soap. It is pure and shoud not cause any kind of adverse reaction.

I WOULD NT USE A DEODORANT SOAP IF HE HAS ECZEMA. TRY USING A MILD SOAP WITH FEW ADDITIVES LIKE DOVE OR IVORY.

There are some soaps that are hypo allergenic. You may have to ask a dermatologist on what soaps are good for your child’s sensitive skin.

My cousin’s daugther has eczema and she bathes her with Body Series 4-in-1 family soap.

Try a fragrance free soap like ivory. Also try any body washes or lotions with oatmeal in them. Aveeno has one and so does Avon.

soaps with scents should not be used…as well as laundry detergent! Use dreft or soaps with no dyes or scent. My nephew has this and my sister uses aveeno for his skin, seems to work best.

I would try aveeno and skip any sort of deodorant soaps. Since he has eczema, I’m sure his dr has mentioned that he shouldn’t bathe too frequently because this will make it worse.

Honestly you need to take him to the Doctor and leave that up to the doctor to decide and help you out with that

I can’t speak specifically for eczema, but my husband has psoriasis. His skin is very sensitive. He uses a natural oatmeal soap from the health food store. He used to use Dove fragrance free, but he found that the natural soap is much better.

There are several types of natural soaps and deoderents in health food stores.Chances are hes reacting to mercury found in soaps deoderents and toothpastes.Research the products you use and see what dove doesnt have that the rest might.Personally Id just get these products at the health store and try them out.

I am 32 years old. I have been diagnosed with eczema since i was 7 months old.I have tried a great deal of soaps and body shampoos and i feel the best deodorant soap or body shampoo is called G&H. The only trouble is that you can’t find it at the supermarket or at drug stores. It is only availably from amway. You can get more information on the site http://www.amway.com.
