Question by Lauren R: Eczema and food allergies?
My 4 month old son had eczema. Now I’m worried that he will also have food allergies. I read that having eczema increases the chance of having food allergies. I will ask his doctor at his next appointment. Does anyone else have experience in this area? Does anyone have a child with eczema without food allergies, too?

Answer by Heather Y
My daughter was diagnosed with eczema at 4 months. We switched to soy formula and it cleared up (milk was aggravating it). At a year old our doctor advised us to try regular milk rather than soy to see if she had outgrown that trigger. She drinks whole milk with no problem and so far has no other food allergies. She’ll be 2 in November. Her eczema is pretty much nonexistent now except she has small flare ups when we travel for the first day or so (I think its a stress reaction).

What do you think? Answer below!
