A friend of mine has it really bad on his legs and torso. Not bad on his arms & back, but none on his face, neck or chest. He uses hydrocortizone cream, but I didn’t know if there were any other treatments found to work more effectively. He also has four fingernails on his left hand that are thick, obviously from a fungal problem, but the prescription meds haven’t affected that either.

Try EMu oil. It has a natural antiainflammatory in it. It worked very good with my psoriasis.

Question by Princess Ninja: Is there anything that really helps baby eczema?
My poor little niece is apparently really eaten up with it. My brother rubs her down with some oatmeal lotion and keeps her nails trimmed and hands mittened, but she still manages to scratch herself from the itchiness, even with mittens. :( Her mom is going to see if switching formula helps since it only really flared up once she went back to school and stopped breastfeeding.

Use Aveeno. Take her to the Dermatologist

Question by Akling: Is there anything you can do to treat eczema and skin allergies besides medications?
Almost 2 years ago now I broke out in an itchy bumpy rash. It started around the backs of my knees, slowly made its way up my thighs, around the front of my knees, to my lower back, my shoulder blades, the inside of my upper arms, the back of my lower arms under my elbow, and then to my knuckles and sometimes inbetween my fingers. I immediately went to the doctor because it progressed quickly and he suggested that it was a pesticide, or bed bugs, basically that lived under your skin and caused an itchy red rash. I was given pesticide which made my affected areas burn severly. Stopped that, and went to a local dermatologist who suggested the same thing. Leaving that possibility behind again, I went to another dermatologist. She said I had a bad allergic reaction to nickle(from my belt holes and buckle), along with eczema, and a mild case of hay fever. She gave me a cream that always makes the itching stop temporarily, but has never gotten rid of the rash totally. Suggestions?

I have eczema BAD and, aside from the creams, there are only 2 other treatments; Prednizone-a steroid-which can be injected or taken orally. Neither will ever get rid of eczema, since it’s a stress problem, but relieves it temporarily. So far I’ve stuck with the creams. Sorry!!!

My 2 year old grandson has Eczema from head to toe. The doctor prescribed a medication that is over $70 and my son and daughter in law cannot afford to buy it, so I was wondering if anyone knows anything over the counter that they can use on this little boy to control the itching. It is heart breaking watching him scratch until he bleeds! His little hands are red and scaly and very rough. I feel so bad and helpless! Thank you in advance!
