Question by Mia28: Is my eczema because of my diet?
I read somewhere that you can get dry skin if you’re not eating properly, and i was wondering if that’s why i have started getting eczema? It’s really bad and there’s no other reason i can think why i would be getting it? help, please!

Eczema is genetic. You didn’t get it because of diet, you have had the trait for it since birth. However, foods and food allergies can exacerbate or trigger eczema outbreaks. Go to your physician and have him prescribe a medicated cream to deal with the rashes. You can try serna or another lotion, but you’ll have to experiment. Stay away from scented and dyed stuff, and try the hypoallergenic varieties until you find one that works. Be aware that you can develop a sort of immunity to the lotions at which point you will need to change to a new one.

Since allergens and foods can be eczema triggers, you should probably have an allergy panel to find out what you are allergic to. Once you know, eliminate all potential triggers from your life, and slowly reintroduce things one by one, until you find out what works and what doesn’t.

I’m basically raining dandruff and the affected areas are visible. Granted, I don’t want to go in my current condition for it’s gonna cost me. Help, please.

The eczema is only on my left wrist and its very mild. But will I get disqualified for it? Is it hard to get a waiver?
