Question by Rhonda A: I have had something behind my ears for months and i think it might be eczema?
I have had something behind both of my ears for about 10 months now. Its red sore and itchy and my sister tells me it’s eczema. She gave me some medicine but it hasn’t been helping. It’s really annoying because it oozes out clear stuff and gets in my hair. Can someone recommend some kind of medicine that helps?

This does sound like an eczema and it’s in a usual place, it’s warm and damp there. Get some Hydrcortosone cream 1% if you can get a script for 2.5% it would be better. Change your bath soap to Dove unscented and no color. Try “Horse and mane” shampoo, it works well.
Make sure you wipe dry and keep dry in those spots so, other then seeing an allergist, this is all you can do. The doc can give you Atrax 10 mg. and a few weeks of prednisone steroids or a steroid shot, it will help clear it up.

I’m a high school student wondering if i could possibly be disqualified from a NROTC scholarship by mild eczema behind my elbow and knees and on my shins. I’m 15 and I’ve had eczema since birth. If i it is something that can disqualify me, then what can i do to treat it?

Question by staceyN: Tiny red bumps, patchy red areas that itch behind ears and on face. Anyone know what it is?
Yesterday, I noticed the skin behind both ears felt strange and bumpy. I had someone look and they said it looked irritated – red with tiny little bumps. This morning it has spread to one side of my face and onto my neck, and it itches. These bumps are very tiny and pinkish red, causing me to look like I have hives sort of.

A friend thinks it just seems like contact dermatitis, but I’m not sure about that. I’ve had that on my hands before and it didn’t spread and was not like this. Should I go to the doctor, or will this go away on its own? Thanks.

If it’s Garnier fake tan spray , it;s probably it. Caused me an itching under my left eye, and dry patches.

Perhaps you are allergic to a hair dye. Or something. It sounds as if it is an allergic reaction to something. Maybe something you ate, like strawberries…? Summertime…

Eat lots of garlic and drink lots of green tea as it will protect you against everything. Unless you are allergic against that…

Best of luck.

Her skin colour is about 5-6 shades darker on her neck, legs and arms compared to her face.
She is also allergic to egg and some nuts and has asthma. Her eczema is under control Are there any natural remedies that can help her skin improve as she is only 6 and has been bullied in school because of her skin colour being different. Im using dream cream from lush which is a good moisturiser but isnt doing anything for the darkened skin. Thanks
