Question by beyonce: I have eczema, and a small rash on my cheeks, forehead and chin. How can I make it better?

Best answer:

Answer by sweet breeze
Taking good care of your skin is crucial if u have eczema. Here are some tips:
• Try to keep your skin from becoming too dry. Talk with your doctor about how often to bath. Many experts now believe that daily bathing can be helpful for people with eczema. Just don’t make the water too warm, because very warm water dehydrates the skin faster than lukewarm water. Use mild soaps, and wash and shampoo . As soon as you get out of the tub, pat your skin dry and then apply plenty of moisturizing ointment, cream, or lotion right away (within two to three minutes).

• Allow your skin to breathe (and not overheat) by dressing in natural fabrics like cotton. Avoid wool and other scratchy materials, though, because these can irritate the sensitive skin.

• Switch to mild, fragrance-free soaps and shampoos, or those made for sensitive skin. Use mild, fragrance-free detergents for sensitive skin

• Rapid changes in temperature can make eczema worse,

• Pollen, dust mites, and animal dander can also trigger or worsen eczema.

• avoid scratching.

Question by mudda: im a overweight teen and im going on a diet but i have eczema to if get smaller will mi skin get better?

Best answer:

Answer by canineconnectionllc
It might, but if its not diet-related it won’t. Make sure you are taking essential fatty acid supplement. I recently started getting acupuncture for my eczema and its almost gone in only 2 treatments- my acupuncturist also “prescribed” dabbing the spots with castor oil, which also seemed to help a lot, too

Good luck!

Question by gatorjay: Hand eczema, does it get worse before it gets better?
Hello, I have had really bad hand eczema to the point where I can’t use my hands regularly. I went to see a school nurse and she prescribed me with a topical steroid cream called Triamcinolone. The first night I used the cream my hand had gotten a lot worse the next morning, and it had spread to places it wasn’t before. Is this normal? Have you had this problem? Don’t know what to do… moisturizers aren’t doing anything to help.

Answer by Real_woman65
Stop using the topical! If you are getting worse with the steroid cream you need to see your regular doctor and not trust this to the school nurse’s judgement!! Eczema sometimes requires a variety of treatments (sometimes including antibiotics for extreme cases). You don’t need to suffer with this disease, I have it too and when its being treated with the right things you will feel so much better!! Good luck!
