Question by jaxs921: Could not having as many of my antibodies through breast milk cause eczema to apear?
My son is three months old and about a month ago I started feeding him formula while I was at school and breast feed him when I am home. About two weeks ago he came up with a pretty bad case of eczema, could this be showing up now because he is not getting as many antibodies from my breast milk as he was before or is this just coincidence?

Skin conditions such as eczema, are largely genetic. They also are commonly connected to respiratory issues so keep an eye on that. I breastfed boy my kids exclusively and my youngest still has asthma and had mild eczema for the first couple of years.

I do have eczema in the areola of the breast, a small pinky patch in the areola is itching and also the surrounding area, the pinky patch looks a bit rough at touch. The Doctor assured me is eczema. Does eczema of the breast looks like this? Thanks for answers

My son has just turned two years old and has suffered from atopic eczema since he was a few months old.Just lately it has been getting worse and has spread to his face.He is in discomfort most of the time and scratches himself until he bleeds.
His doctor has given him a moisturiser to apply several times a day but this doesn’t seem to do much.He has also prescribed a steroid cream but I am not happy with using this because of the side effects.
After seeking natural alternatives and not coming up with much that treats the problem from within it occurred to me that since I am still producing small amounts of breast milk if I could produce more milk and give it to my toddler in a cup would this help relieve things for him?I have no idea why I didn’t think of this before.I did not breast feed my son for as long as I should have and could have when he was a baby and I can’t help but think this contributed to the extent of his eczema. This is something I deeply regret.
So my question is do you think restarting my breast milk and offering it to my son in a cup will help?Do any of you have any experience with this?Do you have any advice on the best way to get my milk going again?Any supplements I can take or things I can eat that will help?
Any advice on this will be very much appreciated and thank you for your time.
