Question by kristy_la86: I have a very strange rash/red bumps on my body, could it be flea bites, heat rash, eczema?
I have red bumps in big patches all over my body. They itch really bad, and you can’t really see most of them until I itch them, I have them all up my arms on my elbows (those ones look different, dryish) some on my lower stomach, and legs. I lotion ALOT. I thought it could be flea bites maybe? We just put new carpet in our place, cleaned all our sheets -bedding washed both cats and got flea collars and I still have it. It got alittle better and then just came back again. Does anyone know what it could be? Also, maybe somethin from the lake maybe because Ive been going there lately. I appreciate any help!
pretty sure its swimmers itch ive been researchin online and it makes the most sense specially how its come and go when ive been to this one lake. i dont have inscurance so i dont really have the money to be visitin a bunch of doctors unless it doesnt go away, thanx for all ur help1

Have you ever had chicken pox. Go see a skin doctor or your family doctor for a professional opinion.

Question by Danica Y: Do all the bumps of keratosis pilaris contain eczema?
please give sources.
if all the bumps have eczema, does that mean that people with keratosis pilaris are not allowed to have dogs or pets? please give sources.

No the bumps are formed by excess keratin that blocks the hair folicle and hardens (hyperkeratinization).

My daughter and myself have this quite bad and I find baby oil added to the bath water really helps.

Question by staceyN: Tiny red bumps, patchy red areas that itch behind ears and on face. Anyone know what it is?
Yesterday, I noticed the skin behind both ears felt strange and bumpy. I had someone look and they said it looked irritated – red with tiny little bumps. This morning it has spread to one side of my face and onto my neck, and it itches. These bumps are very tiny and pinkish red, causing me to look like I have hives sort of.

A friend thinks it just seems like contact dermatitis, but I’m not sure about that. I’ve had that on my hands before and it didn’t spread and was not like this. Should I go to the doctor, or will this go away on its own? Thanks.

If it’s Garnier fake tan spray , it;s probably it. Caused me an itching under my left eye, and dry patches.

Perhaps you are allergic to a hair dye. Or something. It sounds as if it is an allergic reaction to something. Maybe something you ate, like strawberries…? Summertime…

Eat lots of garlic and drink lots of green tea as it will protect you against everything. Unless you are allergic against that…

Best of luck.

Ok, on Nov 26th (thanksgiving), I started to notice an itchy rash on my stomach right below my breasts. I thought it was hives because I am under a LOT of stress (family legal issues, family health problems, wedding planning, fiance out of work, holidays, trying to quit smoking, etc). That night I noticed I had bumps that looked a lot like mosquito bites only some of them were smaller and itched worse than a mosquito bite. I still figured they were hives. But then the next day my sister said she had them too. Our mom said it was the “three day measles” so I looked that up. I did have some symptoms- same kind of bumps (although not very many, probably only 10-20) and a few nights before I’d had a low grade fever and swollen glands but I have been immunized, just like the rest of the USA so I should not have them. But I was worried because measles can cause birth defects and I work with a pregnant woman. Monday morning I went to my family doctor and he took one look and said chicken pox- it’s impossible to have measles. The problem I have with that diagnosis is this- I still have them two weeks later, I’m still getting new ones, they are mostly on my stomach and breasts with a few strays on my legs and arms. I had chicken pox when I was 9 and I remember them well. These bumps don’t have a blister or pimple like head. They are just itchy bumps. They only scab over if I scratch them till they bleed (usually in my sleep as I try to take benedryl and put on aveeno anti-itch cream with calamine and oatmeal. I thought they were going away about a week ago but a couple days ago, I got more new ones in the same place they started. I’ve been watching my diet, soaps, etc and can’t think of anything new that could be causing contact dermatitis. I do have two cats but have been always told that fleas don’t live in our climate here (it’s been around 20 below lately) and if it was fleas, wouldn’t my kids and fiance have them and wouldn’t my cats be itchy? They are rather large bumps in some places to be fleas and I read that flea bites are oozy. Can you get this kind of rash because of stress? What else can I do to make them stop?
Also wanted to add- these are not scaly, rough or blistery. They are very sparse- maybe 30 of them at the most all over. Already looked up scarlet fever- that was my supervisor’s diagnosis- but don’t fit symptoms. I sleep next to my fiance and he hasn’t got it. My sister also has not passed hers on to anyone. We don’t live together. I believe hers have gone away.
also, there have never been any on my face or neck or armpits (my sister had one in her armpit though) or groin area.

Tanning used to heal the rash, but now I’m sun sensitive. I’ve had biopsies since 17,told everything from mites, animal scabies,to live elsewhere. I’ve always had dry skin & living in WI my problems get worse in fall, winter, spring.I’ve been diagnosed with:Eczematous dermatitis,Eczema,Atopic dermatitis,& Asteatatic dermatitis, plus a nerve rash.I’ve seen numerous allergists, dermatologist nothing works that they gave me.Olux foam helps on my scalp, getting a perm used to help for awhile.I have a space guard media pleated filter system on my furnace,4 Hunter air purifiers with hepa filters.I lived in a house without forced air heating, that didn’t help at all.I would appreciate ANY help from a DR. or someone experiencing this. No one else in my family has anything like this. Please help?
I have had allergy testing done 3 times, have seen 5 dermatologists over the years had 5 biopsies done.It is NOT an allergy, nor is it psoriasis.I listed the skin conditions I’ve finally been diagnosed with in the last year.
