My daughter has a really bad rash covering her body. As of now, we do not know the source of it. Initially, the doctors told me that it was contact dermatitis. ( A rash caused by something she touched…or came in contact with) Since taking her back a couple more times, they now say it may be from a virus, or who knows what. When given instructions in the beginning, I was told not to use soap on her skin but twice a week, and to keep Eucerin or Vaseline on her to keep her skin hydrated. But this is when they thought it was contact dermatitis. Her rash is bad as ever. It has been almost 2 weeks. If it isn’t…and I’m almost certain it isn’t, contact dermatitis…could the soap still aggravate the rash? I am thinking that if the rash is being caused by an internal issue, then soap should not make it worse. Am I wrong? BTW, I am only using unscented, sensitive skin soap on her…maybe only once a week now. I will do anything to make her better.

I have in the past needed an epipen on hand to administer when this happened. It has happened a few times. I break out in wheels and hives itchy mouth swelling throat and airway restriction. I went to an allergy dr and he said he has never seen this before ( as though he didnt believe me) but I have been to the er for it a hand full of times. It can happen when I play tennis, run, play basketball, sweating mainly. Anyone ever hear of this? Oh yeah and a contact dermatitis to top it off even when I am not active… HELP!

I’m scared cus i think i have irrititant contact dermatitis due to face cosmetics (face irritation), because i only get red after applying cosmetics and the redness goes away when i dont put anything. But whenever i look at ways to treat and heal face rashes i get links to Rosacea and stuff, and that word “rosacea” scares the jeebers out of mee, im 19 years old (male) and i get red after using acne products and/or face washes for my oily skin, could this mean i have rosacea i never recall getting red before cosmetics and my pimples are acne cus they’re “poppable” when i get facials. The redness is also aliviated by antihistamines, would could that be the case for rosacea individuals as well?? I’m scard i might have rosaceaaaa wahh

Our daughter has bad eczema, and her primary doctor thinks it’s contact dermatitis. It’s on her elbows and arms, sides of her legs and knees, and her cheeks. However, I fed her squash for the first time today, and now she’s got a rash on her butt and a little on her chest and stomach (in addition to what she already has). I can’t think of anything she could have come into contact with today that would cause a rash on her butt or stomach. We haven’t changed diapers, wipes, diaper cream, or laundry detergent for her (Dreft only). Is this more than likely a reaction to squash? Any personal anecdotes or general knowledge about allergies and eczema are greatly appreciated. She’s only 5 months old, so seeing an allergist won’t do much good yet (so I’ve been told). Thanks!
