Question by freedom ain’t always free: Why do 70% of children grow out of eczema by their teens?
When I was little I had this itchy rash on both of the folds of my arms (behind my elbows). Then when I was eleven or twelve, the rash got really bad. It spread to my back (which stung after every shower), up both of my arms, and I had these weird crusty things on my legs.
Then, thank God, it disappeared. The scars eventually faded and now I never get rashes (except when I wear fake jewelry for too long).
I want to know why? What change in my body changed my skin? Did it get tougher as I grew up? And what stops kids from growing out of this horrid disease?

My daughter and I have eczema and these wacko doctor have prescribed everything from creams to hydro-zone to Vaseline like products and nothing seemed to work until we went to another doctor and he said for us to use this oil called Derma Smooth! And i am telling you it is the best thing in the world it makes your skin feel smooth and silky. So my question is how many of you have been given these creams for your kids that seem to make things worst or thin the skin out? For all of you who are looking for something to help please try this oil. i know i sound like a spokes person but i am not i am a regular mother who just read a girls question asking what to do for her daughter with eczema and i wanted to help everyone who is dealing with it. ask your doctor for Derma Smooth!
this is not a steriod cream it’s oil and it has no steriods in it smarty pants!!!!!

My mom had to have radiation on her chest and her skin was extremely dry because of it. A Dr. suggested to her to use nothing other than Dove Liquid soap. He said it was the most gentle. Might help you guys out. Good luck!
Another great over the counter aide is Bag Balm. I keep it on hand all the time for skin issues. My two youngest have a little eczema but nothing major. It works quick!!
