Question by Why walk 1000 miles: Clear difference between eczema, urticaria and psoriasis?
I want to know the clear difference between eczema, urticaria and psoriasis in terms of cause, symptoms and treatment.

If you can only clarify the cause between them is also ok. im very confused and mixed up since they all are skin diseases and have similar clinical picture. Thanks a lot!

Eczema is a local allergy coming as a hyperpigmented patch itchy. Urticaria is some chemical or food substance to which you are allergic to is eaten, causes small itchy swellings over skin all over body. Psoriasis is of unknown cause (some say it is due to mental tension) that forms itchy areas over patches of skin and skin is desquamated as scales of epidermal tissue.

Question by neen: Help! Need something to clear up infant eczema!?!?
My 6 month old started with a rash about a week ago. At first since it was in creases an on his forehead I just assumed it was a bit of prickly heat. After trying cornstarch powder and noticing the rash sprreading we went to the Dr. I am taking him today for blood allergy test. I am looking for something that can clear up the rash, today it still seemed to be spreading. The Dr gave me the option of a few creams which I have started Cetaphil and it does not seem to be doing anything. I want something that I can see a change for the better!

Eucerin/Aquaphor It works wonders!! The cream not the lotion. I used it on my son when he was an infant…he is 3yrs old now and I still use it.

I also use Avenno Oatmeal bath for infants it helps stop the itch.
Also Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream, their products are good too.

Question by MoTHer of MILES: Got an infant with eczema, … seeping clear liquid.. how to treat.?
My 3 month old boy was born with eczema. The worst part is on his scalp. I have done research and each one tells me to put oil on it and let him sleep over night, then in the morning wash with mild shampoo. Once I do this it seeps a clear liquid, i try to pat it dry so that it doesn’t dry and become the yellow crust. What can I do to treat this. OR should I seek professional help.

The absolute best thing is Vaseline Creamy. It’s in a little white tub, about $ 5.00 Honestly works great. My doctor told me about it. My daughter had terrible exzema on her head, and my niece had it horrible all over. It cleared it up in three days. Trust me….It’s fantastic.

Ask your doc for a prescription for hydro-cortisone cream.

What would have changed with the outdoors that would give him a reprieve? He is allergic to grasses and 5 types of trees.

I live in New England and we haven’t had the first frost yet, so I know that’s not it. Any ideas?

Thanks!
