I stupidly depended steroid cream for 4 years, because in between that period I wasn’t told my condition was eczema, it only got confirmed early this year. I did stopped using the cream for 1 and a 1/2 year because the condition (peeling scaly thing beside the corners of my mouth ) went off and I thought I was cured already but no, the problem came back after I used a stupid pimple cream that totally burned my cheeks. Then later I was prescribed 1% hydrocortisone to apply for 2 weeks and it went off. After a month I realised my face has become sensitive to the sun, and my cheeks are always flushing. So I depended on and off on that 1% hydrocortisone cream. After a period of not using 1% hydrocortisone cream the problem came back.
I’ve been to doctor and dermatologist and all told me the only way to clear that thing off is to use back 1% hydrocortisone cream. I myself also know that if I used the cream for 4 days the condition would definitely disappear BUT after 3 weeks it will SURE comes back which is not what I want. What I want is a permanent solution, not a temporary quick fix.
Now I’m on the 11th day of not using the cream, not even moisturizer, I intend to leave my face alone and hoping it will heal it self. But my cheeks are also very painful, flaky, kind of inflamed. I don’t feel like using back the cream because but I’m very paranoid and hesitate to use steroid cream already after knowing the long term side effects. Now I’ve been cleansing my face with water only and have totally went cold turkey.
I managed to contact a mother who spent a week applying aloe vera (the real one from plant) on her baby son’s eczema face and the son got cured, and the eczema hasn’t been returning for a long time. So I do believe there’s a cure for eczema, doctors and dermatologists keep saying there isn’t any cure because the fact is they don’t know how to cure, they can only give temporary quick fix which is steroid cream.
I’d like to know if there’s anyone tried using Aloe Vera on eczema especially on the face before? I have not tried it yet because I have not found the real one and I’m waiting for the mother’s reply on whether I could stay at her place for a week and use the aloe vera, since she has a garden that plants aloe vera. And please don’t suggest any other creams, I have like tons of prescription creams already, I didn’t mention it is because I’m trying to keep this post short. BY THE WAY, some of the eczema rash parts on my cheeks has turned a bit brown colour, my sister told me not to worry because it means the skin is healing already, is it true?

i had a condition similar to yours a while back
i kept applying the hydrocortisone and took antibiotics as well and the skin eventually got better
what you can do is gently wash your face with just cold water
and then apply the hydrocortisone however many times specified by your doctor/dermatologist
drink lots of water and you could take some flaxseed oil
it’s good for the skin and stuff and i was recommended it when i had eczema. no harm in taking it. it’s just pretty much fish oil with linseed oil and stuff. it’s good for your cardiovascular system as well.
the hydrocortisone will help your skin heal
my skin was pretty flushed as well and i just kept applying the hydrocortisone :/
if your skin is really sensitive to the sun now, maybe you could try sunscream for sensitive skin?
are the brown bits like scabs almost? i had that and applied the hydrocorstione over it to make it flake
don’t peel your skin and just apply the hydrocortisone
i don’t know if there exactly is a cure but after you apply the hydrocortisone and it all goes away, keep washing your face and apply moisturiser daily. and drink lots of water and take the flaxseed oil if you want. flaxseed oil also reduces inflammation! so this could be good if your cheeks are inflamed
i’m not sure if aloe vera helps with eczema but you could try it
i have a tube at home and i basically use it as a moisturiser and for scar healing and stuff because it’s known to have healing properties?
well good luck!
