Question by storyinthephoto: Does your child have a skin condition or eczema ?
My children have eczema and during the colder months we have to be careful so their skin doesn’t get flaky so it won’t need prescription medication.

Our dermatologist advised us to ONLY bathe them 3 times a week. We follow directions, we bathe them 3 times a week the other 4 we clean their private parts with soap wipes and barely warm water to make sure they are clean.

I’m amazed that people had the gall to say that I and my kids are dirty because IM following dr’s advice, and my kids are clean, they are 3 and 4, they don’t get that dirty, either way I don’t think some of the morons on answers who said that shouldn’t bother me but it did.

My kids aren’t dirty and either am I, Im following directions to save my children’s skin from peeling off and bleeding.

anyone else have children with eczema or skin conditions where bathing or soaking in water has to be limited ?
thanks guys, I think they are actually getting better. I have a prescription to use if it gets really bad, but usually I use aqouphor
yeah as they get older and start playing sports and stuff I will have them bathe everyday, Im just trying to get their skin to the point where they can!

thanks for the great answers

Well, just ignore them. You are doing what the doctor said. People are just rude. I feel bad for your kids though, that has to be hard on them.

Question by kween_r2001: Can anyone out there help me? I have a chronic skin condition that looks like ring worm…?
It’s circular in shape and starts off small (often times two tiny circles side by side). The circle (or circles) grow larger and larger and seems to go through a cycle of sorts before it finally fades and goes away, only to return later (sometimes months, sometimes years even before it comes back again). Lately, each time it comes back, it has been presenting with more and more circular lesions forming in the general area (like a cluster or them). All of the circular lesions go through the same cycle like pattern. The lesions often itch, but not always. They are rough and red on the exterior (like a ring) and somewhat smooth on the inside with less color. This condition has been coming and going in the same general area of my inner thigh for some 14 years and doctors seem dumbfounded. I’ve been to several doctors about it no one seems to have definitive answer about what this disgusting looking “disease” it on my skin. Some said it looks like “nummular eczema” but I’ve read in several places that that more likely affect elderly men. (I’m a 45 yo female who has had this condition for 14 years. ) Some doctors said it looks like ring worm, and treated it to no avail.

Help! Anyone who might have a clue. I’m getting desperate here.

Thanks.

If you look it up, you will see it’s supposed to respond to the same thing that’s in Canesten cream. I don’t know if it will help in your case (surely the docs. can get it sorted out? – Specialist?) but it might be worth a try?

Testimonial from a woman having atopic eczema for over 40 years. She’s seen doctors & dermatologists and used numerous treatments creams during this period. However, using the SkinKind cleanser has dramatically reduced the condition and brought natural moisture back to the skin within 6 weeks.

Question by Sam: My 6mt old has eczema,he is still nursing. How much apple cider vinegar should i drink to help his condition?
Does the apple cider vinegar that I drink have to be diluted with water?

Answer by Bravo
I don’t think there’s an actual limit on how much apple cider vinegar one can drink in a day. It is very nutritious and helps build a strong immune system. You just have to dilute it enough.

Normally for an adult, you want to use a solution which is 50% water and 50% apple cider vinegar.

But for baby this young, you probably want to use 20% apple cider vinegar and 80% water solution.

Question by Fragilistic Girl: What is the medical condition or a skin disease called Eczema?
It is a skin disease caused by an allergic reaction.

Answer by sebastian
Eczema is a form of dermatitis, or inflammation of the upper layers of the skin.

The term “eczema” is broadly applied to a range of persistent or recurring skin rashes characterized by redness, skin edema, itching and dryness, with possible crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Areas of temporary skin discoloration sometimes characterize healed lesions, though scarring is rare.
