Question by jaxs921: Could not having as many of my antibodies through breast milk cause eczema to apear?
My son is three months old and about a month ago I started feeding him formula while I was at school and breast feed him when I am home. About two weeks ago he came up with a pretty bad case of eczema, could this be showing up now because he is not getting as many antibodies from my breast milk as he was before or is this just coincidence?

Skin conditions such as eczema, are largely genetic. They also are commonly connected to respiratory issues so keep an eye on that. I breastfed boy my kids exclusively and my youngest still has asthma and had mild eczema for the first couple of years.

Two days ago I went to the doctor because I had some discomfort in my vagina and I thought I felt a bump on my labia. I thought it might be a razor bump but fearing it could be Herpes I figured I’d get it looked at anyway. She checked me out and said everything looked okay just irritated and that I had something that looked like blisters in my vaginal wall but that she had poked and prodded at them and I hadn’t reacted so it couldn’t possibly be Herpes because I would have been screaming with pain. She asked if I had done anything new and I told her I had tried the KY Intrigue heat. She went on a rant on how those things should be outlawed and said I had Contact Dermatitis. She didn’t give me any medication only told me to put a cold cloth to sooth the area and if it got too bad to use diaper rash cream, which I did use and it did make me feel better. I asked her if I should get a blood test to be positve it’s not herpes but she said it wasn’t necessary that the bumps did not act in a hepatic manner. I thought everything was fine but last night I got a fever out of nowhere and when I woke up this morning I had several more bumps on my labia. They don’t hurt and they are not liquid filled, they are just hard little bumps and my pubic area feels tender. This is only my second time shaving this area so I don’t know how bad razor bumps can get but this feels wrong to me.

My daughter has a really bad rash covering her body. As of now, we do not know the source of it. Initially, the doctors told me that it was contact dermatitis. ( A rash caused by something she touched…or came in contact with) Since taking her back a couple more times, they now say it may be from a virus, or who knows what. When given instructions in the beginning, I was told not to use soap on her skin but twice a week, and to keep Eucerin or Vaseline on her to keep her skin hydrated. But this is when they thought it was contact dermatitis. Her rash is bad as ever. It has been almost 2 weeks. If it isn’t…and I’m almost certain it isn’t, contact dermatitis…could the soap still aggravate the rash? I am thinking that if the rash is being caused by an internal issue, then soap should not make it worse. Am I wrong? BTW, I am only using unscented, sensitive skin soap on her…maybe only once a week now. I will do anything to make her better.

I woke up one morning and saliva drooled out of the right corner of my mouth. It started to itch and sting so i scratched it and constantly licked it more. Soon blisters popped up at the right corner of my mouth. I thought to a day back if i went any burning or itching sensation but i remmeber the corner of my mouth was fine and wasn’t bothering me. It was only the morning and it took about 5 mins for the blisters to appear. I assume it was from drooling or some kind of contact with bacteria on my pillow because it was really dirty. it blisters small bumps and i even had a huge scab that prevented me from talking or eating confortably. Anyways did some research and found Perioral Dermatitis could have been my problem because it says that drooling can cause it.

Copy and pasted from web sites (Describing Perioral Dermatitis):
*You may sometimes feel an itchy or stinging sensation.
*You will usually see it around your mouth
*People can get this any time between their mid-teens (i’m 17)
*Perioral dermatitis is a common facial rash consisting of small inflamed papules (bumps) and sometimes tiny vesicles (water filled blisters) or pus spots, which are often clustered around your mouth
*It is thought that transfer of saliva to the skin around the mouth may play a role in perioral dermatitis, since it is more common in young children and oral surgery patients, both of whom tend to leak saliva onto their skin, i.e., drool.

http://www.acneguide.ca/basics/like_acne/perioral_dermatitis.html

Info from both these links.

it’s been 2 weeks and 5 days arleady the scab is finally gone and i can eat, speak, talk. and by the way i was masterbating on the day i touched the area of the infection or what ever it is and could have possibly torn up some skin on my penis. I don’t assume it’s a fever blister because that can spread to ur private area. But it has been 2 weeks and 5 days and my penis healthy and clean not even a single rash.

Any my question is does any of you get blisters around your mouth when u wake up cause you drool?

My second question is what do you guys think the blisters are?

Thanks alot for your answers i will try to pick the best
To add more details i actually saw a picture of perioral dermaititis that was located on the right corner of my mouth and the blisters looked very similar to this

Not very graphic it just looks like small tiny pimples/blisters around the corner of the mouth.

it starts around her mouth and spreads to her entire face. It swells to the point that her lips will crack. We apply ice packs and give benadryl but once it starts there is no stopping it. The swelling lasts around two days and the redness will last a week or more. after about three days, any affected skin will begin to peel like a healing sunburn. We have seen three doctors (including an allergist) they say “Contact Dermatitis” but have no idea what the irritant could be. They say to treat her with hydrocortisone cream and cold compresses. Also, to use vaseline on her lips. Maybe someone has had a similar experience or has heard of one and could give me some clues. My daughter is a nail biter, thus making it nearly impossible to pinpoint what exactly could be going into her mouth. I would appreciate any help i can get. I just can’t figure this out.
