My daughter just turned 4 months old she received her first prescription cream from the doctor when she was 2 weeks old. Its like the older she gets the worse the condition gets. I was everything including my clothes and sheet in dreft. I slather here in Baby Aveeno eczema cream every time I change her Diaper. I have tried Hydrocortozion, baby oil, prescription cream, all natural neem oil, pretty much everything you can purchase that is safe for her to use nothing seems to work, i was wondering if anyone has a child with eczema this bad and any tips on things that might work. Hers is so bad that she wakes up in the middle of the night crying because she cant stop scratching. I have been to the doctor plenty of time but they say its just baby eczema use lotion. Please help!!!!

My nephew has really bad eczema so my sister takes the hydrocortizone and doesn’t rub it into his skin she just lets it sit on his skin, she puts a lot on him too! It still looks white on his skin because it is not rubbed in and it makes it so he doesn’t itch, she also uses the free and clear detergent as well as washing him in hypoallergenic everything and this has really seemed to help it calm down.

She’s had it since she was a few months old. I used the infants Eczema cream/lotion and it was fine for a while. Now she’s 2, and its on the crease of her arms (not your elbow, but the opposite side of your arm) and on/around her ankles, patches on her legs and near her elbows. It’s not on her stomach/chest or back or face, just her legs and arms. She itches at it, so it “breaks” and “cracks” and the ones on her arms crack so bad, that they bleed a little. I’ve tried everything it seems. Even the doctor prescribed Hydrocortisone cream and she had a bad rash on the inside of her legs, near her diaper line, but its not from the diapers. I think its from her sweating and itching around these areas. The ladies that watch her at daycare don’t put on lotion or anything I give them (since they have her from 9 to 6 everyday), so What can I do for her ?? I’ve tried the “oatmeal baths” and a few different creams and lotions. I have NO IDEA what works the best. Any tips?!

We have this problem with our 5 year old, she gets it around her wrists, elbow creases and face. What we have found what works the best is immediately after a bath, we apply Aveeno lotion and cover it with Vaseline or diaper rash ointment, then cover that with clean, light colored fabric. We also discovered that switching to a laundry detergent without dyes and perfumes helped tremendously. And re-applying lotion several times a day helped out a lot. too.

EDIT- I would also try to stay away from scented soaps, lotions, wet wipes, creams….anything like that.

my daughter has eczema from more than 2 years she’s 3 now.i tryed lots of creams but the best were hydrocortisyl 1% for face,betnovate for body and emulsifying ointment wich can be use for the whole body several times a day, ucerax sirop for scracying, but they not work so good now maybe because the body got used to witdh it.

My son has had eczema since he was about 6 months old and now he is three. We have elcon cream that the doctor gave him for the really bad spot… but I usually use aveeno baby smoothing relief moisture cream…

I have a three year old daughter that has eczema. I’ve tried almost every product you can name. Elidel, hyrdocortizone, freederm, you name it, we’ve tried it. Nothing seems to help. She no longer itches the way that she used to, but the rashes are still there and itch occassionally. I know there’s no cure, but I just need something that is going to give her some relief.
We have been to doctors and doctors and doctors. We are just wasting time and money. Every cream they given her doesn’t work. She has been diagnosed with eczema and I just looking for some other type of relief for her. That’s why I am on this site! Thank you very much!

my suggestion would be to see a dermatologist.. over the counter stuff, may not be enough.

I am taking her to dermatologist. i wonder if she will be alright? Please help oif you know anythng about it. Does it ever get healed? Will she ever be alright ? It hurts me to see her go through this and itching.

You can try some 1% Hydrocortizone cream. This is what my pedi recommended for a dry, red spot on my daughter’s chest and it went away within 3 days.

is there any other thing that could help stop the itching her doctor gave her some medication and it dont work i told him and he really could of cared less
her rash is on her chin she uses a hydrating lotion called hylira and medicane to realive the itching called hydroxyzine but is it ok to use baby oil to help moisture her skin

She is four months old and is constantly scratching her head.
She has been to the doctor when the rash was only on her face and he said that it was eczema but since she has the same rash/patches on her head and chest and some on elbows.

I have seen a dermatologist,paedetrician and nutritionist but they all dont seem to help alot.I still breastfeed her but am working full time so ican only do that morning and night she is on soyamilk but her eczema is just getting worse.Someone help
