Visit savantmd.com for more health tips and videos or follow us on http Hi I’m Dr. Regina Sih, Pharmacist for SavantMD.com; Welcome! Today’s health tip is on Bedbugs. Recently in the news Bedbugs are back and have been creating problems in New York, Philadelphia, and Kentucky. Due to increased travel, immigration, and pesticide resistance these critters are creating an infestation problem. Bed bug bites can appear in several ways. Some people react with a red bump ranging from a few millimeters to 1 centimeter. The bites can be extremely itchy and can lead to infections especially in patient’s who have a weak immune system, such as diabetics. Some people are very sensitive to these bites and can develop severe hives or swelling. In these more serious reactions, I recommend to follow-up with your health care provider. So what can you do to alleviate the itchy symptoms? You can try over-the-counter corticosteroid creams, such as cortisone, or oral antihistamines, such as loratadine. Avoid topical diphenhydramine also known as Benadryl which may cause an allergic skin reaction called contact dermatitis. www.savantmd.com www.savantmd.com This video was produced by SavantMD Inc. © Copyright 20010 SavantMD Inc. Update… Now after doing a gluten challenge for the last week on October 5, 2010, I am having no problem with gluten. The skin test done for the DH was not sent for the right testing, several times… Years of gluten free diet when I did not need it, and ignored when I did not do well on it. I was told even that if I stayed gluten free and did not cheat I would not be having trouble… I NEVER cheated on the diet, not from the first day on it many years ago. Make sure you really need the gluten free diet before starting it, for your own health’s sake. Many of the products are not enriched, as normal gluten containing foods. I suffered due to this. I feel better now since a week of gluten food, than I have felt in years. I have to eat a gluten free diet. I have celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis. Here are some of the ways I cope with a gluten free diet. Feel free to share this information with anyone or to post it on your site or web page! Music is from AudioSwap, Thank You YouTube! www.CaptainColon.com http The other reason is that the body has a tendency to reabsorb the poisons from the stagnant wastes, so, other organs in charge of purification such as the liver and the kind has a tendency to overwork, weighing down the whole body. As the organs are wired, so is the brain. So, as well as the outside factors that stress one’s mind and body, there are internal factors which promote psychological and emotional inequality. Now, with the radical removal of the pulling weight and poisons, not only is the body rejuvenated but most significantly, the mind is unburdened also.
