Question by hi_iduntcyber_doyou: 2 year old going on wheat free diet..?
To see if wheat is what is causing his eczema. Does anyone have a child on this diet and if so what do you feed him/her for snacks, breakfast, lunch, dinner…does your whole family eat this way now??
thanks
This diet was recommend by his dermatologist because eczema is believed to be caused by allergies and he didnt begin to break out much until he was put on real food
due to his age they do not want to do an allergy test and want me to rule out things it could be and wheat is one of the most common food allergies

Question by Gummy wurm: Diet pop and skin breakouts?
I was wondering if anyone knows of any correlation between diet pop and skin breakouts, specifically dermatitis/eczema. I’ve had eczema for a while with exacerbation and remission, but it’s been bad in about the past 1-2 weeks, and during that time I have been drinking 12-24 ounces of diet pop nearly every day, and I don’t usually drink pop very often.

I realize it could be just a coincidence, maybe it’s stress, I think I am eating well and getting enough sleep for the most part, but if anyone has heard of any evidence, please answer.

I would like concrete evidence or scientific study or your own experience, not just an ignorant vague answer like, “Yeah, diet pop has aspartame and I’ve heard it’s not very good for you”. THANKS!! :)

I suspect your skin problems have very little to do with drinking diet sodas. I seem to have an addiction to diet Cokes. I drink them to the exclusion of almost everything else. While I’m probably destroying my kidneys, I have clear skin and never get any blemishes unless I’m outside and get bitten by mosquitoes.

Examine other aspects of your diet to see if there could be something else causing it.

Question by calliope_13731: When has your doctor allowed peanut butter in your child’s diet?
My doctor has said no peanut butter until two years of age. We don’t have any food allergies in the family, although my son does have eczema. But before my son was born, my pediatrician said the same thing for my daughter, who has no allergies or eczema. I’ve talked to other people who have heard different things from their doctors, so I guess what I’m looking for is a wide variety of answers and maybe a few sources for why there is such a wide range. When did you give your kids peanut butter? Do they have any allergies?
