My child has had dry, bumpy skin since he was a child that won’t go away. I use nonallergenic detergent, and that helps slightly. We’ve moved twice, so I’m pretty sure that it’s not environmental. Other symptoms that make the dermatologist think it’s excema, are peeling, cracking skin on his palms and soles of feet when he spends any time at all in a pool. We limit baths and have used many lotions with little change. He also has a tendency to be extremely hot natured. Ten minutes of exercise and he is drenched with sweat. I can’t help to think this must be related somehow. Any advice?

When I wash dishes by hand, my palms get really itchy and burn. It takes quite a while for this to go away and feels really horrible. I take Zyrtec and a nasal spray for other allergies and also have contact dermatitis. (I had eczema for many years but I rarely have problems with it now.) Is there a medicine for this? Should I wear gloves? Do you know a good allergen-free brand of dish soap to try?

My grandson (2) has Atopic Eczema. He has huge red blotches on his skin, especially his arms and legs, a little on his tummy and some on his neck. These itch a lot. In the heat he gets clamy and it seems to worsen a bit. Any suggestions about treatment? He lives in Scandinavia. They haven’t managed to get this cleared-uo. Could it be an allergy to food or something else? Do you have any suggestions for treatment? (They have been to doctors and homeopaths.) He is normal and active, so this doesn’t affect him in that way. Thanks.
