i have been suffering with eczema around my eyes for about 2 years now. I originally went to dermatologist and he gave me a steroid cream, I used it for 1 yr on and off because I did not know how bad the cream would be in the long run. Also as soon as I would stop using it within 1 week I was back to the same problem, red itchy, swollen, flaky skin. this is my first video and just testing it but in time I will put up more with my progress. I have recently started an alkaline acid diet which balances the pH levels in your body. I also use Avene products which have helped somewhat. If anyone has any advice please feel free to comment. thanks Video Rating: 0 / 5

Answer by hawkthree Get a referral to a dermatologist to rule out allergies. My granddaghter got it bad and we finally found out she’s slightly allergic to some things — second hand smoke being the biggest culprit.
We did the following and it finally cleared up:
- got a prescription for when it was really bad to stop the itching and spread
- put Alpha Keri Bath Oil in the water (this seemed most helpful). Never found a generic substitute that worked well
– there’s lotions that are better for this than baby lotion — check with dermatologist
– stopped cow dairy and went to goat’s milk formula or rice mil
– add 1/4 teaspoon of children’s cod liver oil to her formula twice a day.
Question by musiclover: Should i use hydrocortisone for eczema around my eyes?
I have eczema all around my eyes.
I’m wondering if it is safe for me to use hydrocortisone around them.
I’ve heard it has a little storoid type stuff in it and i’m worried it might soak into my eyes through my skin and damage my eyes. and i wouldn’t want that!
Do you think it would be safe?

Answer by Chloe I used to have severe eczema and i found using a non acidic product works, i use dermol…
most things turn the eczema red, like this cream i’ve tried using. is it normal for the it to turn red when its moisturized? is there something better to moisturize with?
Ok well i have an egg allergy. And i try to avoid it but sometimes i get tempted to eat something like a cake that has eggs in it. But when i do i usually take a claratin. But i still get these really dark looking eyes and everyone keeps saying i look tired all the time. i just want to know if there is any other safe treatments for eczema around the eyes.
