Question by ihatechunli: Did my athlete’s foot cause eczema on my finger and hand?
So this is my 2nd time getting athlete’s foot in my life. The 1st time I also got it on one of my fingers. This time the same thing happened… I thought/think? The infection on my foot (actually just my big toe) is going away but my finger has gotten much worse! And not instead of redness and itching, it’s painful and has several little bumps on it. AND it’s spread to the palm of my hand. Is it eczema? What could it be? What do I do? Is it contagious? If I touch something and someone else touches it, will they catch it? (if it’s athlete’s foot or eczema)?

Thank you!

athletes foot is a fungal infection, when u have it on your feel dont touch your feet. and yes u can have a fingal infection anywhere, even down there, so watch what u touch and wash your hands well…the little bumps seem like a rash or allergy, try a benadryl. if it doesnt work try moisturizing, doesnt sound like anything contagious…then again…

The doctor says my son has a virus and I have contact dermatitis yet my very tiny blisters are on my hands and feet only while my son had some on his hands and feet and few on his leg and loads on his bottom. Could it be hand foot and mouth virus? How long before I can go back to work in a kitchen if it is?
Could an adult catch it?
Thanks

I have what I believe to be contact dermatitis on my foot. This began a few months ago but cleared up on one foot only. I believe that it was caused by an chemical in some shoes (though i’m not sure). I used hydrocortisone cream in accordance with Doctor’s advice, but it only cleared up on one foot and has remained on the other. On the top of the foot, near the toes, It’s continually red and itchy. I tried hydrocortisone on this foot again and also some Benadryl cream but nothing seems to work. It looks like clearing then comes back with a vengeance! I’ve tried changing socks, shoes etc but to no avail. Any ideas or tips?!
