Question by ashes: My 3yr old has been getting up 105 fevers, rashes and hives, no weight gain off and on 4(1 yr) Whats going on?
3 Yr old daughter has been getting sick ever since we moved to Japan(military). She has been getting recurrent high fevers(105) and rashes or hives that soon follow within weeks. She has also had viral and bacterial infections left and right. I am so tired of not getting any answers as to why this happens every other week. My 10 month infant is showing signs of all this too. The only thing I do know is that she was just diagnosed with alopecia(hair falling out in some places) and eczema which is seasonal and does not relate to the stuff she is getting.
I do not know what else to do as far as these fevers and rashes, because they are causing problems. Also I just found out that she has not gained any weight in over 3 months. I do not know what is going on. Any suggestions? Please help!

My lil one is two and she also has eczema :( ….she breaks out in hives too….I think you should take both of them to a child doctor and if push comes to shove you should move away from japan…your childrens safty should always be number one which I’m pretty sure it is :) …keep us updated and let us know whats going on with the kiddos

Question by VixenMom: My 1 year old has eczema… and it seems to be getting worse!?
I’d like the opinions and experiences of parents who’ve had this problem and what you found to work. I’ve been using hydrocortisone 1%, but it doesn’t do the trick. The doctor said that usually they outgrow this by their 1st B-day (which was a week ago)… but I don’t see it getting better. It doesn’t seem to bother my son… I never see him really scratch at it. It is mostly on his legs and a few spots on his arms. I’ve also tried giving luke warm baths, not bathing as often, lotioning with Aquaphor, Eucerin, baby lotion… and still nothing. Has anyone visited a dermatologist for their infant? What was their recommendation? If your child outgrew it, how old was he/she? If one parent has the condition, is it likely the child will continue with it?

My 11 year old daughter has had eczema very badly since birth. I took her to a dermatologist at three years when it got really bad. He said she had extream eczema due to very sensitive skin. You are doing everything I have tried. The aquaphor has worked best for us but nothing has ever made it go away completely. Make sure you apply it right after the bath, that is very important. It helps lock in some moisture. You are very lucky that it dosn’t really bother him much. My daughter can’t sleep at night some times because she itches so bad.

As a parent, it brings joy and happiness to see your child living a happy and healthy life, but what if they suffer from baby eczema? This can be very disturbing for a Parent and too much for you and your baby to withstand. As a parent, you can’t just stand and not do anything so what are the things you need to do to get rid of the baby eczema?

Question by _I_love_warm_bananas_: Am I getting rashes? Do I have allergies? Do I have eczema?
Often my skin will itch and when I scratch it, a patch of small bumps will appear. They appear and disappear within about 10 minutes. I thought it might be eczema but the pictures I’ve seen of that don’t resemble what I have. What I have is never red or inflamed. Is this a rash or allergies or something else?

May be a non specific allergy, for which a simple anti allergic medicine prescribed by your Doctor may sufficient. How ever you may require a Motion examination to exclude an endogenous allergy due to worm infestation. Please see your Doctor.

Question by Poppy I LOVE YOU MJ RIP <3: whats causing my allergic reaction? stress or diet? eczema, spots, itching…its getting worse!?
okay i don’t know what it is but its getting worse. it started about a month or two ago,
it started off with eczema, but now ive got spots on my face and the eczema is getting worse

okay i do realize it COULD be because of my stress – ive been under immense pressure due to exams (gcses) , but ive calmed down as they are over, it was really bad because ive never been under that much pressure in my live. but why am i still getting itching and spots and stuff?

but i was wondering -
could it be my diet? i have kind of started eating new things, but they re all healthy changes.

heres what i have on an average day:
breakfast – bio pot yogurt with chopped banana
lunch – sandwich (Philadelphia and lettuce)
dinner – whatever my mum makes (never been a problem)
i do have about 2 cups of herbal tea.

okay, now i want to know whether its my eating or my stress?
please help me!

It is most likely from your stress..
I have eczema too, and I use a cream for it called: triamcinolone 0.1% cream, it’s generic for Kenalog 0.1% cream. Anyway its a prescription from my doctor.. Another thing that helps is benedryl..It makes you drowsy but also helps with the itchyness…
Get some of the cream for it and try to apply it before you scratch it into a sore..
avoid scratching your eczema if you can.
good luck!
