I have always been prone to ear infections and as soon as I feel a bit coldy, one of my ears gets infected, sometimes both. It is sometimes v.painful and happens every couple of months. I have been told by my doctor it is due to bad eczema in my ears and there is no cure.

I have tried homeopathy and an allergy diet with no gluten, dairy etc with only slight improvement. Any one have any ideas at all? I’m desperate. Thanks.

Not sure if this helps ……but for my eczema the only cure was Cortisone cream !!! and trust me ….i’ve tried EVERYTHING!!

We were given medication for her ears to help them and she’s been given the drops since last Wednesday and we’ll stop on Friday. Well, ever since about last Friday she’s not acting herself. She has stopped begging for food which she used to do. It seems like she’s having a hard time hearing. Today I went in the driveway, and usually she’s at the door and she wasn’t. She was laying on my parents bed on the other side of the house, looking at me like “when did you get here?!” I’m worried that she’s losing her hearing. Could the ear drops be doing this? I figured with her begging for food she’d be able to smell what we’re eating, too. We’ve been giving her 250 mg of Cephalexin two times a day, a generous amount of Tri-Otic ear drops into each ear twice a day, and we’ve been washing her every day with Etiderm. (She also has dermatitis at the moment.) She is, like I said, 7 years old and weighs roughly 25 pounds. She IS going to the vet July 11th for a checkup, but if she gets worse the vet WILL be contacted. We love her and we don’t mess around if she’s not healthy.
