Question by denis m: How are eczema, asthma and rhinitis linked? ?
I have all three!! I had eczema a few years ago i spent months off school in and out the hospital, I have always had mild asthma which has gotten worse recently and I have had perennial rhinitis since as long i as remember. How are these conditions linked and what is the underlying cause of them?

Possibly it’s your home! If you have a lot of dust.. there’s your asthma. If you have a lot of bacteria and harmful substances.. there’s your eczema. Rhinitis I’m not sure about completely, but it sounds like something in the air could be affecting your sinuses. So look around and see if you’re living in muck. If not, you’re just really unlucky!

Are a Lupus rash and Eczema linked to one another?

My grandmother passed away in 2001, primarily due to Lupus. I’ve been worried that I may have/get Lupus (since it is a genetically transmitted disease). I have common flare ups of a rash that i thought was eczema, but recently have thought could be related to Lupus. Could Lupus cause Eczema? Are they linked somehow?

I Am Suffering From A Contact Dermatitis Of The Lips (over 6 Mos.) Linked To Cinnamic Aldehyde. Help!!!!?

My lips are swollen, raw, crusting…. Sometimes the skins on my lips turns white then sloughs off in a seemingly never-ending cycle.
I can’t eat normally and everything I drink has to come through a straw.
I have been to several dermatologists and had 2 seperate biopsies. Those results were normal and as well as bloodwork. I have shown an immediate sensitivity to cinnamic aldehyde through a patch test and I am being treated with topical steroids. I have also eliminated all toothtpastes, gums, and mouthwashes from my routine. After many months I am still suffering and need answers….. Is my condition really a result of cinnamic aldehyde or is there something else going on? Will there be any relief for my condition ??? Does any one know anything to help me??

Atopic Dermatitis And Panic Attacks Linked?

I have severe atopic dermatitis (eczema). Here’s the thing. When I’m stressed, I itch more. When I get really itchy, I get stressed about it. This has escalated into screaming fits before (I’m not proud). My dermatologist concludes that I have panic attack disorder and she prescribed me Doxepin. The doxepin has only stopped the itching and stress in the sense that I can’t itch in my sleep. Its only effect has been sleep. So, is there a link between skin conditions and panic attacks, or is my dermatologist wrong on this one? Also, how I go about asking for a change from the doxepin. I hate it.
