Question by Browny: I have eczema on my face and nose. I have tried all different creams and lotions.?
The doc has given me different types of creams such as E45, Sudocrem and Diprobase but nothing seems to work. I went into a Chinese health shop and they sold me ‘Qingre Anchuang’ tablets and ‘Acne Getaway’ lotion. The first dose of tablets made me sick and give me a headache. But the lotion seemed to work slightly. Although, appears to have stopped working. Any ideas of what I could use or try next??

Question by Kitt: How would I know if there are steroids in lotions that I use?
I want to know if the lotion I’m using (Aveeno’s Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion with Cooling Menthol) has steroids. I have nummular eczema, so this lotion should help stop the itching, but I don’t want to risk getting yeast infection again. So I’m avoiding steroids and antibiotics/anti-bacterial stuffs right now.

I’m still on the process of getting better from my yest infection, so I don’t want to take any chances with using a lotion that may or may not have steroids on it.

SO WHAT SHOULD I LOOK OUT FOR? In the “inactive ingredients” and “active ingredients”, how would I know when there’s a steroid mixed into it?

There are no steroids in Aveeno. A lot of steroid names end in “-sone” and “-etisol”. Check the labels.

Question by oh geez: Which of these over-the-counter lotions are best for eczema – Aveeno, Eucerin, or Cetaphil?
I have heard these brands come up a lot when it comes to soothing eczema outbreaks. Which would probably work the best? If you’ve had any experience with them, please share! Thanks!
