Update… Now after doing a gluten challenge for the last week on October 5, 2010, I am having no problem with gluten. The skin test done for the DH was not sent for the right testing, several times… Years of gluten free diet when I did not need it, and ignored when I did not do well on it. I was told even that if I stayed gluten free and did not cheat I would not be having trouble… I NEVER cheated on the diet, not from the first day on it many years ago. Make sure you really need the gluten free diet before starting it, for your own health’s sake. Many of the products are not enriched, as normal gluten containing foods. I suffered due to this. I feel better now since a week of gluten food, than I have felt in years. I have to eat a gluten free diet. I have celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis. About a week ago I noticed a little patch of vesicles on my palm. It scared me a little but I thought it’ll go away soon so I didn’t really care. Then one day the vesicles were disappearing one by one and patches of my skin started to peel off. I thought it was just dry skin so I didn’t mind again. Then, more vesicles formed and they started to slowly spread out. I got scared and searched online and it seems like i got hand eczema. im 16 years old, play volleyball, and i really want to get rid of this as soon as possible. i just randomly woke up from it, i have no idea why it happened. please help me i do not want to suffer my whole life from this…

Answer by Rainbow Cortisone cream is the most common treatment for mild eczema breakouts. You can try an OTC cortisone but if it spreads or does not get better in a couple weeks, see DR.

I have a little rash all over my upper body that looks a lot like eczema, but i’ve never had it in my life. I’m 11 weeks pregnant so it has me a little concerned. Could this just be something pregnancy related, or more serious? I’m going to see my doctor next week but any information i could get before hand would help calm me down a bit.

Answer by somegirlio Is it flaky at all? There is something called Sebboriac Dermatitis… which is dandruff of the body. As about that. Whether it is Dandruff of the body or Eczema use Eucerin Lotion.. It really, really works for both of those things. I’ve had both skin condions so I am speaking from experience.. Hope it is as simple as either of those 2 things.

Answer by Elizabeth No.. Personally I’ve not seen this I have seen that the use of steroid cream for eczema often causes respiratory issues later in life.
I had, it my cousin had it and neither of us had cats, my kids (and her kids) have been brought up cats and dogs indoors and none of them have any skin issues.
Mine was totally brought on by citrus.. apparently my mother ate a crate of tangerines while pregnant with me. I have out grown it.
