there is no cure only treatment. get your food allergies retested, if you have a change in symptoms. follow up with your dermatologist with the results.

It’s really irritating me, and I can’t stop the itching. I just washed the area with soap. I applied Hydrogen Peroxide with a cotton swab. I did not touch the area with my hands.

Please tell me ways of making it feel better and clear up without using steroids…
Also, my old dermatologist told me that tanning would help my eczema go away, is that true?

my son has eczema. I wrote this about our experience with it on another website: (maybe you can get some ideas to help your situation:

Our nightmare with Eczema…. some tips for other parents We’ve been dealing with Eczema since December and have seen a dermatologist for it at least 7 times This is what we’ve done- * changed all his clothes to 100% (soft) cotton washed in Tide FREE. Carters sells onesies that are great. * We wear 100% cotton washed in Tide free when we handle him. .. tshirts should not have writing on front that is not dyed into the cotton. * IF someone else handles him, they MUST use a barrier such as a swaddle washed in tide free (100% cotton too). They can’t touch his face. * We wash him in Cetaphil lotion or Aquaphor lotion in lukewarm water. Blot dry (not rub) and put lotion all over him IMMEDIATELY. Washing him nightly has helped a lot more than doing it every other night. * All of the soap in our house (for us to use) is Dove sensitive (fragrance/dye free) * He cannot be near makeup, hairspray, cologne, perfume, frangrant hand lotions (goodbye Bath and Body works), dishwasher soap (some intelligent men think that’s hand soap) etc. * We clean the house more. * I switched the kitty litter to a dust free one. * mitts on his hands at night so he can’t scratch (although the rubbing still makes bumps appear). * Use a cold humidifier at night * Don’t use dryer sheets on any of our clothes or his. * He can play with plastic or cotton toys only- MOST soft toys are polyester- we put them away. * If he plays on the floor, we put down cotton tide free washed blankets for him to be on. We also cover his vibrating/rocking seat with that. * As far as lotions- we currently use: – Aquaphor (scalp and forehead) it’s very thick – Vanicream (on his body) – the lotion in the tub – Cerave pump cream (head) – Cetaphil (tub) – (face) -Atopiclair – face on eczema spots (this is good stuff) – Aclovate on ecemza (we dab this on when needed because it’s a steriod cream- but it works like a charm. Oatmeal creams and baths do not work for our son and the doctor said some babies are actually allergic to it. We have also tried these but they did not work: – Aveeno Eczema care – Mometasone Furate Cream .1% (steroid) – Gentle naturals Eczema Cream (has disney pic. on it) – Mimyx (which cost over 0 and didn’t work at ALL!!!!!) We were also told to give him Benadryl at night which didn’t work and also Hydroxyzine syrup (prescription) which also didn’t work. I don’t like the idea of giving him something to make him drousy so he’ll stop itching. For us, his ezcema has definitely been more under control with the changes we have made. We’ve noticed flares when other people handle him who most likely are not following our strict rules- so now we are even more strict about it. One question we had was “is he allergic to our cats?!” (God forbid)…but because the eczema disappeared from his body once we switched to cotton washed in Tide Free- it was the clearance that the cats were not the cause. The doctor said he would have had the rash continue all over if that were the case. Hope this helps with anyone whose child also suffers from Eczema.

I have eczema on my ear and a bit of dry skin on my head will this cause more likely to have a skin irritation or allergic reaction to the hair dye.
