My son, daughter and husband have it. I have been bathing the kids in Dove and using an ointment the dermatologist prescribed but it doesn’t seem to work. The ointment also discolors their skin. I would like to try something more natural.

I have eczema on my arms and hips, it’s something that you can’t get rid of permanently. However, you can keep it in control by moisturizing the areas that you have it after every bath/shower. You should never let it get dry, ever. I recommend using almond oil as a moisturizer.

I unfortunatley was born with eczema, and during the winter months it acts up. Mostly on my face, which really bothers me because it itches and I use hydrocortisone before I use a moisturizer. I need to find something that works a little better, any recommendations?

Question by J.: What are the best products to treat eczema?
I currently use Oil Of Olay Shea Butter body wash, and then use Curel on my dryer areas after I shower.
I also use Cortaid or Dermarest for when I get especially dry patches.
This can all get pretty tedious at times, and I guess what I’m looking for is a body wash that moisturizes well enough that I would only need to use lotion minimally after I shower.
Also, any recommendations on how to fade out scars from areas where I scratched too hard and broke skin would be great, too. I currently use Palmer’s Cocoa Butter lotion, but it kind of leaves a greasy residue.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I would suggest going to a dermatologist and asking for a Protopic prescription. It’s an ointment that I use whenever I start getting a break out and it goes away really quickly. Also, I would just use a bar of soap.. I know this can be hard when you’re used to body wash, but I just use Dial bar soap, then put curel everywhere when I get out of the shower. As long as you don’t use too strong of scented stuff on your skin.. you should be fine. As far as the scarring goes… I’m not too sure because I’ve never scarred. I would just really recommend the ointment- ITS AMAZING.
