Question by Manga Princess: Really Bad Eczema….?
I’ve had eczema for about 3 years now, and it’s really only flared up once or twice. When my eczema flares up, it’s usually pretty bad. The first few times I went to the walk in clinic and was prescribed cortisone cream. However, since then I have run out.

I recently had a flare up during the start of August, and it has been getting progressively worse. Until a few weeks ago the eczema was limited to my arms. But since I didn’t have cream and my doctors appointment isn’t until January, I wasn’t sure what to do; therefore I have been trying many different “treatments”. (It has spread to my eyelids before and I had to get a special cream for that…., I have had psoriasis on the nape of my neck, and now the eczema is on my neck and progressively spreading outwards. Last week it was confined to a space the size of a quarter and is now ALL over my neck and underneath my chin)

I have tried the “saran wrap” method which worked only for the first few minutes until the saran wrap shifted and caused even more itchiness than before.

Tonight I was going to try the “polysporin” method…. However I have my doubts?

Before you go on a rant about having to apply lotions/creams/body butters…. I’ve tried them all. Lately I’ve been applying an all natural aloe vera cream, to no avail.

I really do wish that there was a way I could get rid of it ASAP. I don’t want it to spread to my face, (esp. if I have no cream….) But I am at a desperate point. I try the best I can to restrain myself from itching during the day, but i wake up many nights with weeping/bleeding sores on my eczema spots. (Scratching while I sleep) It’s gotten to the point where I can barely move my arms without stinging and burning pain from my arms…. D=

What should I do? I want to go see a dermatologist, but I’m not sure I can wait until January… Get a referral and have to wait another 6 months. D= (That’s what happened with my last appointment, which was cancelled do to unforeseen circumstances) Would a walk in clinic give me a referral to a dermatologist?!

Is there another natural treatment I can try?

Thank you in advance~

hey i have eczema too and about a week ago i found this website called earth clinic. you should check it out because there is some really good at home ways to cure your eczema. first of all steroid creams are not gonna help you! have you read about the side affects? they will eventually stop working too and even if you go to a dermatologist they will give you more steroid creams and you know that. what has really been helping with the itching at night for me is applying organic apple cider vinegar to the areas try it! the instructions are all at the earth clinic website. this is whats helping for me and i hope it works for you too ! :)

Question by Chris: Does allergy testing really work to reduce illnesses?
I am thinking about going to an allergist because I have eczema and have had a stuffy nose for months. I am willing to stick to a plan if they say I cannot eat wheat or orange juice or whatever it is. Please share with me what allergist’s do and if you’ve had sucess with a new diet.

I went to an allergist because I am a chronic sufferer of sinus pressure and swelling. I have a stuffed nose all the time, every day, every minute. No relieve ever unless i take OTC psudaphedrine meds. The allergy testing was long, fine for me, but may be a bit uncomfortable for some, so be prepared. They started with a scratch test, which consisted of the bottom half of both my arms they went down my scratching me with toxins that I may allergic to. The second phase was the top of both of my arms. These were injections…about 25 needles, but if you’ve had tatoos, its nothing. It was VERY helpful because I found out exactly what I was allergice to… Grass, oak trees, mold and ragweed. The mold allergies are all year around. I was perscribed Astalin, which helped greatly, until I moved and it suddely stopped working. I was switched to Nasonex and have been doing fine ever since. Some days I still need the added boost, so I bought an OTC nasal spray called 4-Way, it is THE best for a quick fix. I use it every once in a while before I sing at a gig and it works great, but you shouldn’t use it all the time…I also bought on Amazon a product calld Sinus Buster. It is basicly a pepper spray that you spray up your nose. And BELIEVE me , it works…and I can use it as I please because it’s all natural. It does burn a bit, but if you’re used to spicey food, it;s kind of a rush. Another thing is the Netti pot. A saline wash really helps clear stuff out before shooting my Nasonex. …..make sure your insurance is going to cover it though because I was stuck with a $ 400 bill becaue my insurance considered this part of my deductable…i had to pay out of pocket, but It was still worth knowning what I was fighting. Good luck

Question by ♥Mommy to 2 year old Jacob♥: Help.. his eczema rash REALLY red and blotchy…?
I just don’t know what to do anymore…. we’ve been to the doctor, I’ve used all sorts of creams and lotions ad treatments… I’ve tried everything and now his chest is all red and blotchy with eczema rash too…I don’t know what to do anymore…it looks terrible and as soon as I have him undressed for anything he does right for it to itch it.

Please… I need advice.

I read somewhere that eating salmon can help and I found this 3rd food by gerber mixed with salmon, sweet potato, peas and pasta bits and he loved it but it doesn’t seem to have helped at all. (maybe it needs time still).

What products REALLY work? I mean really really work?
We’ve tried: Aveeno baby wash, an all natural baby eczema cream, hydrophilic ointment, hyrocortisone (both OTC and perscription), vasaline right after a bath, baby oil, baby oil gel, a little tube of aquafor, a little tube of eucerine cream…. NOTHING works..
I realy don’t think he has a food allergy to anything because it is only his back and chest…
I already went… if you read my whole post you’d know.
maybe I wil call the dermotoligist… he had an appointment but got better before we went (a month in waiting) so I canceled it now he’s worse again…
star he doesn’t eat either yet..

you can put veg. oil on them and cover them with a sandwich bag. Let them soak like this for a while. Repeat as needed.

My eczema was from a food allergy. Mine cleared up as soon as I stopped eating Gluten and Casein (wheat and milk). So did my dandruff. Try eliminating one from your diet. Then the other.
