Answer by Wally G The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and sea food which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I’ve turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aim at the root of the disease – the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 3 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with anti-eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.

Question by : is this is a birth mark or eczema or something else? can it go away?
i have a HUGE mark on my stomach. it literally takes up half of my stomach. but im not sure if its really a birthmark. my mom thinks it may be eczema, but what does eczema look like? my mark is dark brown, patchy, and rough feeling with little bumps. my little sister has eczema, but i’ve never had any problems with dry skin. i put lotion on it every day. besides, i’ve had it ever since i can remember. my parents don’t know if i’ve had it since birth. if you think its eczema what can i do to make it go away? or if it isn’t eczema than what is it?
pictures of eczema or other conditions may help me figure out mine, so that would help me a lot thanks!
i forgot, my sister also has a very small patch like mine on her forehead.

Answer by cowboydoc I would guess you have eczema, it’s a flora bacteria and once it takes hold, it’s there forever. It will always show on you, either as rough skin darker then the rest, or reddish and rough. You can put a number of things from the Walmart drug store on it to make it so it doesn’t show so much. My own daughter never wore skirts or shorts because she was always ashamed of her legs and what they looked like.
We both go to a dermatologist and get shots every week now to halt our allergies, the shots Xolair are on special request and have to be approved are $ 2400.00 a month but can be approved by the drug company and they will pay. See your doctor for more facts.

Question by neen: Help! Need something to clear up infant eczema!?!?
My 6 month old started with a rash about a week ago. At first since it was in creases an on his forehead I just assumed it was a bit of prickly heat. After trying cornstarch powder and noticing the rash sprreading we went to the Dr. I am taking him today for blood allergy test. I am looking for something that can clear up the rash, today it still seemed to be spreading. The Dr gave me the option of a few creams which I have started Cetaphil and it does not seem to be doing anything. I want something that I can see a change for the better!

Answer by Little_Mami _Chula_30 Eucerin/Aquaphor It works wonders!! The cream not the lotion. I used it on my son when he was an infant…he is 3yrs old now and I still use it.
I also use Avenno Oatmeal bath for infants it helps stop the itch.
Also Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream, their products are good too.

Question by rusty: What is this on my hand? Eczema? Or something worse?
About 3 months ago I got this small red, puffy spot on my skin between my ring and middle fingers on my right hand. It never spread, it never hurt, and it never discharged anything. I thought it might have been a bug bite, poison ivy/oak, athlete’s foot, or something like that. It was on my hand for about a month or so and then it dried up and went away after I started using Anti-Fungal Cream and Cortisone-10 for about 2 weeks. This morning, about a month after it went away, it came back. It’s in the same spot, it hasn’t spread, no pain, no puss, nothing. Just that small red puffy spot. What could this be? Hand Eczema possibly? Thanks
Best answer:
Answer by a l Eczema would itch, but you haven’t mentioned a thing about that, so I might guess that it could be several things: erythrasma, erythroid, herpetic whitlow, or tinea manus. All of these would respond to anti-fungals and cortisone. So I would recommend using them both for a while because erythrasma can take months of constant treatment to fully eradicate it. If you want better advice, either see a doctor or post good pictures of the rash when it comes back.
