Question by Groove Child: Is this eczema or something more serious?
I have a little rash all over my upper body that looks a lot like eczema, but i’ve never had it in my life. I’m 11 weeks pregnant so it has me a little concerned. Could this just be something pregnancy related, or more serious? I’m going to see my doctor next week but any information i could get before hand would help calm me down a bit.

Is it flaky at all? There is something called Sebboriac Dermatitis… which is dandruff of the body. As about that. Whether it is Dandruff of the body or Eczema use Eucerin Lotion.. It really, really works for both of those things. I’ve had both skin condions so I am speaking from experience.. :) Hope it is as simple as either of those 2 things.

Question by Rhonda A: I have had something behind my ears for months and i think it might be eczema?
I have had something behind both of my ears for about 10 months now. Its red sore and itchy and my sister tells me it’s eczema. She gave me some medicine but it hasn’t been helping. It’s really annoying because it oozes out clear stuff and gets in my hair. Can someone recommend some kind of medicine that helps?

This does sound like an eczema and it’s in a usual place, it’s warm and damp there. Get some Hydrcortosone cream 1% if you can get a script for 2.5% it would be better. Change your bath soap to Dove unscented and no color. Try “Horse and mane” shampoo, it works well.
Make sure you wipe dry and keep dry in those spots so, other then seeing an allergist, this is all you can do. The doc can give you Atrax 10 mg. and a few weeks of prednisone steroids or a steroid shot, it will help clear it up.

to take them back to the dermatologist. I’m finding out eczema is more common than I thought. Do children grow out of it or will they have it forever? But if it is controlled, I don’t see why they should go back to the dermatologist. Thanks.
Actually, I’m pretty happy with what I have found, It’s only costed me about 15 bucks last month, so I’m going to stick with this natural lotion and cream.

My daughter has a really bad rash covering her body. As of now, we do not know the source of it. Initially, the doctors told me that it was contact dermatitis. ( A rash caused by something she touched…or came in contact with) Since taking her back a couple more times, they now say it may be from a virus, or who knows what. When given instructions in the beginning, I was told not to use soap on her skin but twice a week, and to keep Eucerin or Vaseline on her to keep her skin hydrated. But this is when they thought it was contact dermatitis. Her rash is bad as ever. It has been almost 2 weeks. If it isn’t…and I’m almost certain it isn’t, contact dermatitis…could the soap still aggravate the rash? I am thinking that if the rash is being caused by an internal issue, then soap should not make it worse. Am I wrong? BTW, I am only using unscented, sensitive skin soap on her…maybe only once a week now. I will do anything to make her better.

Hey,

I have atopic eczema on my face and its pretty bad. I have the whole scabbing and skin thickining thing and its actually just disgusting in my opinion. I have an appointment with a dermatologist but it isn’t until the 1st of June!

So Im looking for something to help clear it up at least a bit because im a 16 year old highschool girl so its pretty upsetting to have this horrible stuff on my face and people asking “Wowz what happened to your face? its not contagious is it?”

At this stage I’ll try ANYTHING im so desperate. I was already given Eucerin cream as moistureiser to use but it doesnt seem to be doing much use. I was wondering can you exfoliate the build up of skin on cheeks and forhead or will this just make things worse?

Thanks,
x
