Question by Ladybug: My son’s eczema isn’t clearing up with Desonide cream?
My son is 4 years old. He gets scab looking rashes all over his leg or legs only in the summer time. Right now it’s all over his right leg and now spreading to one of his arms and his stomach. The Desonide cream that the doctor gave me isn’t working. What else can help with a child’s Eczema? What should I do? I’m thinking I should make an appointment with the doctor right away on Monday morning.

Question by AntzaGurl: I am wondering what to use naturally for my sons eczema on his elbow?
My nine month old has a very rough/dry spot on his arm that has been diagnosed with eczema, I do not what the covential medicine, what is a safe alternative for a baby?

Best answer:

Answer by laundry?
Lots of mositurizers (eucerin, aquaphor, petroleum jelly-they all work)!! Infants w/ eczema probably have food and other allergies. It is very time consuming-but if you keep a dairy of what he eats and the eczema symptoms, you may be able to figure out what makes the eczema flare.
If the dry patches donot respond to moisturizers, you will need to add a hdrocortisone or steroid cream.

Question by Jackie: What can I put in my son’s bath to soothe his eczema?
Hi! My 2 year old has terrible eczema. It’s on his legs, his arms, his belly, etc. He has cream from the doctor to put on it, but we are to use it sparingly. Is there anything I can put in his bath that will soothe his skin? My husband thinks it’s baking soda, but I think that’s for chicken pox. Any ideas? Thanks!

P.S. – We already wash him with an eczema wash, but I guess I’m just looking for something he can soak in.

My husband uses Aveeno the oatmeal kind but you would have to check with the doctor to see if you could use it on a 2 year old.

Question by Anonymous: How can I relieve my son’s eczema?
Eucerin lotion, baby oil, unscented dove soap and hydrocortisone cream does nothing for him. Are there any home remedies or prescription creams I should consider?
