Can you still be in the military with atopic dermatitis or eczema? I’m sure you have to be vaccinated, with all kinds of shots, but with atopic dermatitis or eczema? Could I still join? I know the smallpox vaccine could affect it. What are the bad/good outcomes?

Depends on the severity, and whether or not you need medication for it. In most cases, no, its a PDQ, though. Can’t have a flare up in the middle of the field with nothing available to treat it with.

i was just curious…coz i still remember when i was young, the doctors would say i’d probably grow out of atopic eczema before i turn 18..but i’ll be turning 21 soon and i still have a severe case of it…i’d read some articles and they said that 1 out of 3 eczema patients would still have skin flares in adulthood – so do you still have it? or are you blessed enough to have grown out? and would you mind sharing what is/was your best way of dealing with the itchiness? thanks!!
