Question by Tommy: How long can it take a rash due to allergic reactions to cats to heal?
My kid’s doctor refuses to run allergy tests. He broke out in a blistery rash that looks like poison ivy, and it lasted a month. We suspected he might be allergic to cats, and was exposed about 12 hours before breaking out, and was around them for 5 days and then once we came home it took a month for him to totally heal despite being on prednisone. Can it take up to a month for a child with eczema to heal from an allergic skin reaction to animals?

firstly, sounds like you maybe need to find a new doctor. Sorry to hear that he was alkalizeednisone. My daughter used to suffer from eczema and took cayenne pepper capsules and she got over it. CP is an alsolizer. You may want to look into Woof Creek Ranch. They sell only herbal remedies for many things. Their products are human grade meaning human can and do take the products. I have recently been using one of the products for a dog to get rid of colitis. You can email them and ask a question as they are happy to guide you to what would work.

Question by vyos11: Natural remedies for 8 month old son with eczema and how long will it take to see results?
We just found out a couple of days ago that our 8 month old son has eczema. He’s had the red, dry patchiness for a few weeks, so we finally took him to the doctor. She told us it was eczema. Her treatment was for us to use hydrocortison 1% on the serious spots and Eucerin or Cetaphil all over 2 or 3 times a day, and to limit number of times we use soap in the bath each week to 2 or 3. We prefer not use a steroid for treatment. Are there any other suggestions that are more natural? We’ve been using Eucerin since the dr’s visit, but it only seems to be getting worse. How long will it take to see a difference? thanks!

Oatmeal products such as Aveeno. If it doesn’t get better get the steroids, prefer it or not.

I’m using it 2x per day. How long do you think it will be before the rash is gone?
It appeared last Winter and now I have it again. I used Triamcinolone then, and it made it go away, I just forgot how long it takes to make the rash disappear. I just wanna be decent by Valentine’s Day.

once you get eczema it sticks with you for the rest of your life. There lots of creams out there that make it disappear for a while but it always comes back.

i suffer from eczema and i use prescribed steroid creams. i use it twice a day. i find that my skin feels better after using the cream after i shower. I usually shower every morning. i feel that the cream is ineffective if i use it without a shower at night since i dont take a shower a 2nd time. i have eczema all over my body.

So should i take a shower twice a day? are there any other good remedies for this skin condition?
