For 10 years I suffered not knowing why. moved no symptoms now this…if eczema something that will go away? Natural treatments? caused by dust or molds?

Go to health food store & buy something called Essential Fatty Acids. It is also known as Omega 3 and as Fish Oil. This is a natural remedy for eczema, as well as improving memory, being good for the skin, & helping your heart.

My son had dry skin and eczema. We tried everything including prescription cortizone cream. The thing that finally fixed it was olive oil lotion. The only ingredients are the glycerin (which makes the lotion) olive oil, and water (and fragrance). I bet putting plain olive oil on your skin for a little while will help. Also- Don’t put regular lotion on…most of it contains alcohol and actually makes it worse.

Question by Little Ma: I think i have lip eczema? What can i buy to get rid of it?
I think i have lip eczema. My lips are swollen, very chapped, they itch, they hurt. I googled severely chapped lips and lip eczema came up. From the pictures and the list of symptoms it sounds and looks like what i have. I called my doctor and she is all booked up until December 22nd. I can’t wait a whole month with this problem. I tried to get in with any other doctor and they are also pretty booked because of flu season. I don’t want to go to the ER for chapped lips. Do you know of anything i can buy from a drugstore or walmart to get rid of it? Please help!

I have a similar problem. My lips aren’t swollen right now, but I have very bad allergies and whenever I have skin contact with whatever I’m allergic too my lips get little hives on them. But even when I’m not having an allergic reaction they get very chapped (extremely so. I put lip balm on constantly!), they peel, and they itch! I also get these little rough patches in certain places on my lips.

From the research I’ve been doing a Hydrocortisone cream should help. But I’m not sure if they are safe for the lips. I’m just going to go do my doctor and ask, because I can’t take it anymore. I would suggest you try to find another doctor to help you out in the meantime.

Until then, the only thing that has helped me is St. Ives apricot scrub and Menthol Medicated Blistex. I gently scrub the dry skin off my lips with the scrub and immediately after rinsing pat them dry and put a rich slather of the lip balm on. Keep those lips moisturized! And the menthol sure helps them feel better.

Question by Pat: Do you think Dyshydrotic Eczema is a disabling condition?Like for SSI?
My friend suffers from it and is applying for ssi but has other of course more serious heart and blood conditions but having this on hands and feet certainly can be bad at times.
Should we include it on the SSI application?

Best answer:

Answer by LYNN W
Any and all medical conditions should be put on a SSI application no matter how minor because it will all come into play in deciding their disability. It may not disable them everyday but if they have to pay for medications or see doctors for it on a regular basis for instance, this can help out with deciding if your qualifies for Medicaid. Even something that may not seem like much such as high blood pressure should be added because it is a medical diagnosis.
