The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and milk products which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I’ve turned to the natural treatments.

Well, my sister has eczema and we used Ellidel. It went away for 2 months and then came back, but that’s better than a week. Hope this helps.

Last year, my eczema broke out really bad on the folds of my arms, my doctor gave me Derma-smooth and it eventually cleared up. Then months later around late november, a small peck sized dry spot developed on the back of my wrist, then overtime it spread to the size of a quarter. After that another spot appeared on the lower part of my thumb(same hand) and it too is now the size of a quarter. I put cortizone 10 and neosporin on them both. They dont have small open cuts from the scratching like before, but why havent the spot gone away?

the spot on my thumb is itchier, dryer and is peeling skin or little scabs.

I would say if it’s round it may be ring worm. Otherwise if it’s kinda crusty I would say use Udder Balm if you don’t want to go to the doctor.

You’re asking for a lot. I think the first thing is to get a correct diagnosis. Eczema (aka dermatitis) is related and usually less severe than psoriasis, but only a dermatologist can tell for sure. I have moderate to severe dermatitis (if untreated) have studied it pretty extensively in medical school libraries, and I wouldn’t hazard a guess.

Frankly, I wouldn’t rule out not being able to see a doctor. Check with your local human services office or the community outreach office of a hospital. I’m not telling you which therapy will work best for you. But it’s worth investigating your options. I tried many therapies (traditional, Chinese, alternative, etc.) until I found one that works. You’d better be prepared for a long hard struggle to wellness. Just make sure you’re heading up the right path, and if you don’t know what your options are, your chances of getting well are more limited.

I had eczema ever since I was a baby. I had it on the insides of my elbows but got rid of it in the eighth grade. And a few months ago, I (I’m in high school) started getting it again but on my neck.

My mom re-ordered one of the prescription cream called fluticasone propionate that apparently worked for me when I was younger but she had forgotten to re-order is so we hadn’t used it after that. It got rid of my eczema really fast when I had it a few months ago and I had no scarring.

Check with your doctor though to make sure it’s okay for your baby though.

Also, evening of primrose oil is said to be good for getting rid of eczema. I’m not sure if you should be taking it though if you’re breastfeeding. It might be a good idea to read up on it.
