Question by janellethechef: Has anyone who has eczema ever tried taking zinc supplements?
I have terrible eczema on my legs, back and hands. The topical prescriptions I’ve been using just don’t seem to work anymore. I’m wondering if anyone else who suffers from eczema has had any luck with taking zinc supplements. I was doing a little research today and found several sources that mention that zinc deficiencies are a common cause of eczema.

Some recomended a supplement (15-20 mg/day for women 30mg/day for men) but others said a supplement wouldn’t really help.

Has anyone ever tried taking zinc for their eczema? How did that work out for you? Would you recommend it to others? Why or why not?

I’ve been suffering for a long time from eczema and have tried everything from the dermatologist to a chinese magician. Hi there,

I’ve had the same issue with eczema…20+ years.

I tried the top pick from that site and have had a reasonable amount of success. At least I can say I got my money’s worth…

You need to change your diet, try eating and drinking soy instead of dairy products, you have a sensitivity to oranges as well.

Good luck………….

I have heard a lot about how water softeners may help eczema and dry skin conditions. I was just curious if anyone has used a water softener, and if it helped with dry skin, hives, and/or eczema.

Thanks
