I think a doctor is the best person to ask, you shouldn’t take chances with a baby.

Question by dangurl07: How to treat eczema on 5 week old infant?
My 5 week old daughter started having little red bumps on her forehead and cheeks at two weeks old. I thought it might have been just a heat rash. Then it started to get worse. Now it’s spread all over her face with dry patches(cracked, scaly and rough), all around the neck, and on and behind the ears( pus behind the ears). Her father also had this as a child. How do you treat eczema and what products should I buy? Also I am breastfeeding. Are there any foods I should stay away from that might make it worst? I will be calling the doctor’s on Monday.

I had eczema ever since I was a baby. I had it on the insides of my elbows but got rid of it in the eighth grade. And a few months ago, I (I’m in high school) started getting it again but on my neck.
My mom re-ordered one of the prescription cream called fluticasone propionate that apparently worked for me when I was younger but she had forgotten to re-order is so we hadn’t used it after that. It got rid of my eczema really fast when I had it a few months ago and I had no scarring.
Check with your doctor though to make sure it’s okay for your baby though.
Also, evening of primrose oil is said to be good for getting rid of eczema. I’m not sure if you should be taking it though if you’re breastfeeding. It might be a good idea to read up on it.

What would have changed with the outdoors that would give him a reprieve? He is allergic to grasses and 5 types of trees.
I live in New England and we haven’t had the first frost yet, so I know that’s not it. Any ideas?
Thanks!
