I had a bad case of contact dermatitis on my face. It kept flaking off for months. Eventually it made a hard crust with scaling and I lost more skin when that came off in December. The new skin underneath is pink and it’s deeper than the normal skin so my cheeks have a rough, scaly appearance. The pink areas continue to expand, which I guess means the old skin is still coming off? The pattern of redness/pinkness changes daily. The new skin is still pink after 45+ days. Will it take months for my face to heal? Can my face still heal after it has been through so much?

Hi! I am on the following medications:
Allegra-D 24-hour qd (for allergies)
Biaxin 500 mg bid (sinusitis)
Flovent 440 mcg bid (asthma)
Benadryl 50 mg q4h prn (I get a lot of rashes, so this is used and OK’d by my dermatologist to be taken with the Allegra-D, even though it’s 2 antihistamines — right now it’s for eczema and some contact dermatitis/hives)
… and now what I’m thinking of taking is a DuoNeb nebulizer treatment (Albuterol inhailer isn’t cutting it, and last time it was this bad, neither did the Xopenex, so I had to be put on oral steroids and DuoNeb [atrovent and albuterol]).
Can these things be taken together? Thanks so much!

when i was pregnant with my first child 18 months ago i developed atopic eczema all over my body, i tried every cream on the shelves and antihistamines along with steriod cream
it looked like i had been burned by a chip pan and felt like hell i couldnt bare clothes on my skin and soon i couldnt sleep or go out much and developed depression.
now i still suffer with eczema but nothing like i did and its very controllable!
what i wanted to now is if any one has had anything like this and if its likely to happen again if i become pregnant again??
any prevention ideas would be appreciated to ( besides the idea of not getting pregnant again)

I am being treated for what I suppose is considered eczema or atopic dermatitis. I have a dime sized red itchy spot on the right side of my face and two pea sized dots on the left. The are itchy and red and they flake and peel. After a week of flare ups I finally went to the dermatologist. He basically took a quick look got my symptoms and said he didn’t really have an answer. He prescribed atopiclair, a cream I have been applying for six days now. It has begun stinging for a few minutes when I apply it and occasionally makes the spots redder. Not bigger just redder. The doctor didn’t really tell me what I had an after some research I figured it out for myself. I am a teen. After this reading I have become paranoid. Will my eczema really ever go away? Am I going to be forever afflicted with having to apply creams and worry about my face? Is it true that things will get worse and redder before they get better? Will I forever have an itching condition that has no cause? What can I do?! I hate this please help!!!!!

I have been under the care of the dermatologist for 2 years and still i suffer really bad. I have been on the strongest drug to reduce the immune system, but i am still bad. If I put loads of moisturiser on it just layers up and makes me itch. The best one so far had been diprobase, but i still come home from work and then itch and scratch like crazy. I want to lead a normal life again. Any Ideas?
