Question by capitalisticsista: Anyone have any non-prescription remedies that work well for eczema?
Both of my children have eczema and the dr. prescribed elidel. After I read the possible side effects, I would rather not rub it on them all the time.

flaxseed is powerful in fighting eczema.

Supposedly eczema comes from a lack of fatty acids and Omega 3 oils in the diet. You can use th oil or grind your own seeds and eat fresh. I like to mix mine with oatmeal.

You need to use it consistently though. Can’t stop once it clears

its not the worst break out that I have had in life but it is getting on my nerves. I was wondering if astringent will work since its alcohol based?

Question by Zarin A: what are some natural remedies for eczema, that work really well?
my baby sister has severe eczema that we are trying desperatley to control. we’ve had to use harsh topical products since she was really young, and are looking for alternative solutions. what do you suggest, and how effective is it?

more info, you don’t need to read this:
we have also given her different vitamins and minerals and probiotic tablets.
ways we control her eczema include:
-using allergen free bed liners and febreze allergen reducer
-topical medicines, and aquafor, aveeno, eucerin
-neem powder (which called a miracle plant in india)
-flaxseed oil and olive oil for cooking
-specialty foods that are allergen free
-air purifier
-sanatizing most things around the home using steam

My 6 months old has sensitive skin and it has become worst in winters with heaters. She gets all red. What should i do?? Does buying humidifier will help. She had minor eczema but it became more now. its hard for me to see her crying.
